Porthio is the boss of Relic and holds the proverbial leash of the 3 dragons. He is found in the east area of the zone with his faithful cat, Nightshade. The two are agro linked so can not be pulled solo and leashed to the area. For starters, Porthio is a scrykin, so he has the Resonating Screech AE which debuffs your attack. He hits fairly fast in the 5k range, slowable. Periodicly throughout the fight he commands Nightshade to attack an apparently random PC. When he gives the command, nightshade instantly memblurs and speeds towards the target. If he reaches them, he locks agro on them until they are dead so it is critical that melee gain agro instantly to prevent this. To complicate matters Nightshade has a very short range AE rampage, so if he gets into a pack of players he can do some serious damage. Furthermore Nightshade has two AE's, Nightshade's Aura and Nightshade's Fury. Both are only 18 sec duration, but they overwrite the druid "oak" line, so get conviction instead. These are not true AE spells, but at this time I'm not sure of how it chooses targets. The aura isn't bad, 100 hp/tick and 50 mana, but the fury is horrid with 1000 hp and mana loss per tick.
General strategy is to pull Porthio into a corner while a group of knights surround Nightshade a bit away. The knights will fight for agro so when it blurs one of them should pick it up before it runs to fresh target. The raid focuses DPS on Porthio and takes him down, then turns on Nightshade. Once Porthio is dead, Nightshade stops blurring and can be single tanked.
When killed Nightshade has 20 staff fragments for progression, and Porthio has 3 black orbs and 2 of the following:
