DoD - Getting Level 69 Spells (Breath of Antraygus)

Brovil in the Creep gives out the mission arc for the level 69 spells and discs.

There are 4 group tasks.

(Anyone know what completing the Widdlethorpe series does? He gives another mission arc but nobody knows what the reward for it is at this time. And I'm tired of doing these missions at the moment heh)

#1 Is just collecting random items out in the open area of the hive. Can be done very easily.
#2 Is a neat little instance off the creep in which you collect random drops off the mushroom men. Pretty easy.
#3 Is back in the Hive and involves killing a named. The named drops what he is doing at 50% and then bolts to the other side of the zone...and opening the cocoons starts spawning mobs....I'd have a good healer and tank for this but it isn't that hard. The named spawns all the way inside to the left in the zone. Send an eye of tallon to scout it.
#4 Requires crowd control. Involves keeping a gnome dude safe as he runs into rooms with mobs. Mem blur is key here.


A side note, some of these missions have optional endings. You get the reward and the quest completed ...but then there is an optional part. For example, on #2 it was to combine all the things you collected into a container and turn it in. We did this and received no exp and no further reward. Does anyone know if there is any purpose to completing the (opt) labelled steps?


ok all this was copied and pasted from graffe's wizard forums and all this info is good and all but how do you get Brovil to talk to you? this person that completed had someone else get the mission task for them and has no clue how he did it. i guess asking the person is to hard or something.

i have heard that turning in a notebook to the spider next to him does it, that saying a phrase will do it, or doing some other mission will make him talk to you but none of this seems to be confirmed.

or is everyone /afk farming AA in WC before they nerf it to find out?

To get Brovil to speak with you, you need to complete a side quest. First, head to the City of Xxii or whatever it is.. the spider city in Stoneroot Falls. While there, loot a tradeable book from them. I don't know the drop rate, but it seems pretty high. A guildee of mine saw 1 in 4 kills before their duo partner went LD and I saw 2 in 6 kills. If you read the book, it talkes about how Ciccero's journal entries (think that's his name) and it basically tells you to give it to that spider that's right next to Brovil. Once you give it to him, suddenly Brovil will awake from his sleep and let you talk to him to receive the missions.

The Widdlethorp series gives you access to a 54 person raid after completing 4 annoying group trials. We figured out that last encounter was a raid after fighting a named mob for 2 hours with one group. Fun? No.

I didn't do the optional part for the third quest, and I had no problems with getting the text for the 4th and final missions.

Also, I don't know, maybe it had to do with us doing it on the normal difficulty, but the 4th mission the named never deagroed and spawned elsewhere for us.

However, that gnome is a pain in the ass. It's good to have a chanter and cleric here I guess, but we had a problem with him. Obviously he runs when the mobs that you are killing are dead... heading straight into battle no matter where you are at. We pre pulled some stuff, but he would be heading straight towards a set of mobs and turn another direction at the last second, basically leaving us to agro those mobs so that he doesn't get owned up before we realized he wasn't heading there. We ended up having to camp in and out a few times just to clear that agro from him. My group consisted of a shaman, druid, bard, pally, monk, and rogue.

Also, the bastard kept 1-900-MixALot KSing us. He got I think 5 kills in a row. Was a bit annoying.

I got also nice chain bracer from 70.2 (hard) : gray iron chain bracer (not yet on lucy) : around 175 HP, FT3, combat+10,...
