I'm not sure how many people are interested in stuff like this but I find it to help make events very easy, and a far as Xalp goes it, looks like a very solid parser. This program I believe should handle DoTs and pets nicely.
For parsing I use it mainly for audio triggers

Tango v0.3.1
What is it?
Tango is a file watcher that can monitor your EQ log file for keywords/phrases/patterns. Tango is similar to EQ's audio triggers with several key differences:
* Tango uses regular expressions to define search expressions allowing for wildcards, backreferences and substitution in what it speaks.
* Tango uses speech instead of sound files to notify you when a search expression is matched.
* Keywords/phrases/patterns can be temporarily added on the fly by other people (raid leader) to all users of Tango at once.

Use
To use Tango, you must have at least Windows XP/Vista and .NET 2.0 installed and logging turned on in Everquest.
The .NET 2.0 Framework can be downloaded here (Note: Vista comes with 2.0 pre-installed):

Tango uses MS SAPI for speech. To control various aspects of the voice use Start->Control Panel->Speech. XP/Vista come with SAPI with one voice. You should not need to download anything extra. If interested, more voices can be found at MS SAPI or NextUp.com<.
Setup
Once downloaded, unzip Tango into its own directory. Double click the Tango.exe file to run Tango. Use the Tools menu to configure options. At a minimum, set the 'Self' option to your game name to ensure that YOU/YOUR log entries are parsed correctly.
