Bears in Icefall

Just finished doing this for me and a necro, and working on the quest for more chars.

The adolescent bears stay rooted with VP just fine. There are a number of them in the field to the north of the shaman spell vendor. You should be able to single-pull all the wanderers in the field with a little patience. There is one single-pull on south bank of the lake, as well. Most of the static spawns around the lake are multiple pulls, easily done with an FD puller.

The bears are dark blue through yellow cons to a level 75. Running 4 shaman DoTs plus 5 necro DoTs, the bears died in 2 minutes or less. I estimate they have a little more HPs than drachnids in 69.1 hard. Experience is good. When I was duoing with double xp going, I think I was getting an aa point about every 6 kills.

The icefall grizzly pelt drops about 1 in 15 kills, and is nodrop. Make sure you loot them with the correct character *coff*coff*. You only have to turn the pelts in to complete the quest, so you can loot them beforehand. The quest giver is Wraithguard Thentil Strongarm in Valdeholm. To get to him: zone into Valdeholm, cross the bridge, immediately turn right (East) and follow path past the end of the buildings, then up (West) to second tier of buildings, Thentil is in second building on the right. Everyone in the building conned dubious to both chars, but neither have done any killing in Valdeholm.

The bracer is not lore, but Thentil will not give you the quest again. I have read that once you complete a set of 4 tasks, then you can do the bracer task again:

- Thentil Strongarm - bracer
- Thentil Strongarm - faction
- Lorekeeper Fenegar - 50hp mp6 augment
- Lorekeeper Fenegar - potions

You can't go wrong really.

It's an outdoor zone with mobs that don't summon for the most part. Icefall is basically the big kids version of Lake of Ill Omen.

The one thing to watch for if you are doing bears and you stray a bit over near the drift wolves is a kobold named Hunter. That sucker has a ridiculous aggro range and can hit in the 2K+ range.
