Returning to the Game

I am planning on returning to EQ, and I don't know what class to return to. My primary was a Paladin (lvl 90 & 3400aa) with mostly HOT group equipment and augments. My main had switched prior to quitting to a warrior (lvl 85 & 1500aa) with SOD full raid gear.

I would probably end up soloing mostly and grouping with my friends (SK & Necro). I was looking for some suggestions on whether I should go to the Warrior or the Paladin and kind of the current stage of each class. When grouping with my normal friends I would probably not be the primary group tank. Any suggestions would be welcome or if there is any other information may help give me some more direction.

Having tank, dps and pulling, I would rather suggest some healing class, either shaman or druid, both can solo quite well and add to your friend group. Shaman adds a lot, buffing, slowing, hasting, cc (VP / PS), melee proc for SK and pets, and main or secondary healing. But my main is SHM so I may be not objective... With 1 cleric merc and 2 dps (or 2 cleric and 1 dps is some cases) you can handle everything.

I guess I wasn't specific enough. I am not looking to creating a new character, but to use either the 90 PAL or the 85 WAR.

If you ask me I would say go with the one you enjoy most.

I would think that the pally would be more helpful in a group with heals. If the plan is to let the SK tank.

But still go with what you think is most fun.
