Hi community,

coming back from 6 month EQ break - left with rollout of SOD - I am finding myself far behind the "standard" - gearwise.

Would like to hear some suggestions / advice where and how to gear up to common gear level again. Are there any upgrades I could at least solo with a cleric merchant these days?

A magelo would help a lot so others can figure out where you are now and what you'd be capable of killing for upgrades. If you can get a group there BLackburrow and Cazic thule are currently revamped and dropping pretty nice stuff for 71 plus til May 16th when they will go back to normal and Guk/Unrest will get revamped to similar levels.

There are a number of new augs you can use to replace the Shards you have from quests and drops in the newer zones. This page has links to most of the Augs and also has some stadardized sets to peek to figure out what you may be missing. http://www.evilgamer.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4870

Gear wise visibles you would lose a little ac but gain hp and heroics going to full set of tier 5 SOD stuff. Some of your raid nonvisibles would be easily replaced with lower ac items with significant heroics and hp upgrades. You would have to work the low end progression to open flags on Zebubrouk in the void to do the armors and have completed void access thru OBF to get into Korafax for some slots. Some of the Named in tier 4 earth theme might drop some useable upgrades and may be doable with you and a cleric merc allthough getting a dps class to speed kills up would help immensely. Group tier 3 sod is about Crystallos in difficulty and stats on gear.

If you were in Group gear as opposed to old raid stuff I'd prob recommend Punctual Earthsaber http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=79605 over fabled gem encrusted axe because of the rune 4 and 2 shielding but your shielding is capped so not as important to look at. Might still be something you want to look at tho but you will lose AC and not as importantly damage changing from your current weap. Do you have a decent 2 hander for dpsing when not in Sword and board mode? I only saw epic and group weaps from tier 4 plus should out dps it.
