Since the Unity thread started to veere off onto this subject, then seemingly stopped...I'm still curious what makes this a "bread and butter" spell, according to Zorbee. Anyone care to enlighten me on what I'm missing about it lol.

Pretty sure it's a joke, but I've heard weirder stuff said seriously.

Don't let the naysayers confuse you with misleading math.
This spell makes the difference between the good and the absolute masters of our class.

I would love some details as well, since I strive to be the best i can.
One of the things I do remember is that for a long time, this would absorb 1 hit or spell damage, completely. Not sure if it still even does that, but when it first came out I used it in a duel with a predictable SK to absorb his HT, rendering it useless. However, beyond that I've found little use for it.

I suppose if you were in a fight where a mob were averaging 1K+ per hit, the "healing" value of 150 mana to block entire hits would be very efficient, even factoring in focus & AAs on healing spells.
