Shaman Healing Issues ?

Let me amend that, I'm pretty happy with my healing power right now but it's not soley based on the heal spells we get. I'm happy with my healing power because I have:

* 45% heal focus on Qvic sleeves (full effect on 68 heal spell)
* All heal AAs maxxed (including Ancestral Aid and Healing Boon)
* Epic 1.5

I don't think our healing ability should be balanced around items and to a lesser degree, around AAs.

I would prefer a poll more along the lines of:

On a scale of 1-10 how do you rate the overall effectiveness of shaman healing ability (or something like that).

I'd give us an 8 - huge improvements from where we've been in the past, but room for improvements!

I think that the amount that is healed is ok now but it would be nice to have some faster heals and overall mana on the heals less.

I think healing as it is right now is just dandy! I think a group heal would be nice yes, but equally so, that's infringing upon the cleric/paladin territory a bit much. Usually I can get my heals down to a 2.3 or a 2.4 sec castand that's *usually* enough time while xping or in many raiding cases to be sufficient enough.

The folks that blip in an instant will still die, even with an instantaneous heal. Usually thats no raids and it's cause they tard to rage, or, the warrior is playing with rogues, and turns the mob as it rages and folks tard on rage, instant heals wont save them.

I don't see us needing a better hot or heal upgrade to our current line. Heck, if I need to really lay on the hots, I can lay out epic 1.5, ancestral3, and serenity and patch as needed. really isn't that bad.

with the improvced spot healing and our HoT (spells, aa, epic) i think shaman are right where we should be. we can heal groups when needed. Personally i dont want more healing ability, i do not want to be labeled as a healer, im happy as a slower and buffer...other wise i woulda been a cleric. I have heard alot of druids hoping that they get some group heals and HoTs (group and single target) so they can compete as a healing class though...I for one hope they dont get that, as HoTs are a shaman spell and its bad enough clerics not only got it, but got stronger ones than us

We need group heals, both an instant AA type as well as a cast spell. In higher level content it becomes essential. Many other classes can slow so there is more flexibility in grouping and raiding. For the same reasoning there should be more than 2 classes with group heals.

Since it will be a PITA to add another possible spell to our line-up it should be attractive to SOE too. Lol.

I am happy where my healing is now, but I agree with Glori...it should not be based upon items and aa's. I'd like that to be my raw healing.

And yeah, I think a direct group heal would be really cool. Or even a better group HoT that was actually worth casting.

You get 500 a tick with yer Epic? Is that 1.5 or 2.0 cuase I only get 420 a tick on my 1.5 /boggle

I'd still like to see our blast heal exactly equal to a druids. We are both priest classes with various strengths and weaknesses. Druids have CH, we have hots. Both have group hots. Druids have ports, duration invis, ro, the second best hp buff, and better burst dps. Shaman have better melee buffs, no group duration invis, the 3rd best hp buff, and better long term dps.

IMO, there really isn't any need for us to have, still, the 3rd best direct heal.

And both druids and shaman need at least one instant life saving AA or spell on a long recast for emergencies. I don't count evac, although some might. What I mean is, some instant heal for the MT, or something similar to a cleric's ability to balance party life.

Other than that, am I able to keep a group healed on most raids? Yep. Am I able to play main healer in most content? Yep.

On a realistic request scale, I'd like to see a "group serenity", and I'd be happy with a "own group only" version. We allready have ancestral aid as mgb'able heal.
And an AA similar to quickbuff that effects our heal cast time. So then I'd really run out of mana fast.
