I've played every class except bezerker. I usually have one main and a few alts going as I tend to get bored easily. I no longer raid nor guild but just play with a few friends who have similar interests to me. I don't enjoy the raid game, although I was in a top 3 raid guild up until elemental PoP.
I just enjoy playing / exploring / hanging out with a few RL friends and accomplishing what we can that way. Which is sometimes as simple as trying a new duo or trio out and seeing how far we can take it etc.
Anyway, sort of off the point of the thread, but I thought I'd answer.

A few things of note:
1. The berserker class was created by making a copy of the ranger class, then changing things. This is why they could proc mana flare from panther. It's pretty likely that they operate under the hybrid rules for melee/spell casting and would not be affected.
2. Procs go off before the swing, and have for as long as I can remember. Easy to test: swing at an Orc Pawn. If you proc on the first swing, you will kill it with non-melee damage, and not do any melee damage.
3. The change to that let hybrids cast without losing swings just after Velious launch.
---Melee attack timers will no longer be reset when a SK, Paladin, or Ranger cast a spell. Previously these classes had to wait a full attack delay after casting before they would attack via melee again.
4. Innate procs on weapons don't count as casting a spell the way procs from buffs do. Mana flare didn't work on weapon procs for this reason.
