It would be superawesome if Spec Alter mod replaced fire focus whenever the arms of a chain set turned from chain/all to shm-specific. Other than Fire, I think every focus except Reagent Conservation and Pet Power has some marginal use for shm. We don't actually use Ice or Disease, but we do at least have spells that they would work on, if we ever cast them.

Just spell focus or things like parry and block? I don't know of any shm only items that have those but there are a few shared class items with those type of effects that are useless.

I wish Fire damage improvement would just disappear from Shaman gear. Cold and Disease can go right along with it. Come to think of it, if I had my wish, those two spell lines would be discontinued, replaced with something poison/magic or retuned. They can also keep anything Prismatic, anything Chromatic, anything made for pets, and Reagent Conservation.

Speaking of tasty mods, I would like to see Specialize Alteration made more widely available and in varying percentages on different tiers of gear.

If the point is simply to remove focuses that no one cares about, without replacing them with something more useful, then whatever developer is asking should simply move on to the next project now, and not waste any more time.

That is, there is no point in removing a useless effect in order to leave a blank spot behind. Indeed, in borderline cases, as several have already pointed out, something that has a rare, marginal effect is (slightly) better than nothing.

To put it positively: removing useless effects in order to replace them with useful effects is a very good idea.

Well to be honest there are 2 foci I never use... Cold and Fire

With breath of big bynn rnk3 I get 1.5k Crits out of it (still not fully AA'd or even focused) I betting when I get it all done around 1.8k a tick average... Compared to the other Disease DoT's its a major improvement.
But on the average I never load them unless soloing. Cold I use every level cap increase to max my evocation skill... If they gave us a Sting of the Queen type Cold spell like the Bstld's have then it'd come back into a valuable Foci

As to foci that are worthless. Fire is the only one I'd say we don't ever use... think lvl 5 was last fire spell.. don't know with the new spell lvl system (well new since DoN,DoD or so)
and WaringMcMarrin has the totally worthless ones listed. We have one chromatic spell line but it's a proc (Panther, Puma) Adds a Chromatic proc to those meleeing.

I'd love to see us get a true chromatic/corruption spell line...
I do agree on Reagent conservation as totally worthless... If you want it you can get the aug from FC1. 130hp/mana Reagent Cons IV or something like that. But let the Enchanter/Clr get them first if you value your Guildmates. Since we've got no new spells to use it with and frankly I'd rather not have reagents ... I prefer just making potions as a good shaman should
Think Summoning Efficiency would still work (I use my dog but it's not a valued effect)
If improved block increased our chance to use Shield Block AA it'd be useful... But I'm 98% sure it only works on the block skill.
---Fero, Furious Bash, Parry/Improved parry, Reanimation(undead pets only),Prismatic,Chromatic, Corruption are all at this point worthless.
