Perhaps I'm bumping an old thread, but I didn't quit for any of the reasons you guys listed.

Facts are: I got laid off, I moved 4 hours to a different city to live with my girlfriend and got a new job. Since I was living with my GF and not being 4 hours away, I lost a lot of spare time I had. I simply lost the time I could put into Triality. Ask anyone who is in there. I tried to make a come back and play/raid part time with a guild called Fantasy Awakened, however they fell apart, people stopped logging on so I spent 2 months soloing nymphs in Dragonscale, I got bored and quit for good.

Sure I have malice towards the devs for not listening, but that never caused me to quit. RL was the major reason. Plus playing for 5 years, I wanted to spend more time with RL anyway.

I am really enjoying EQ these days and for a few months now:

- Raiding 5 days a week with a good bunch of skilled and dedicated people. Challenging but doable raid content.
- Having a large group of friends for exp / faction / augment farming.
- Accepting nice and chanllenging things in small groups from time to time.

I don't know think this is only due to the expansion which I think really good with content for everyone: groupers, TSers, raiders, etc. Of course the faction thing is long, but nothing forces you to do it all, and even if you choose so it's only a few weeks (1 week par faction sounds fair imo) since you can have all of them (remember Velious times when you had to switch factions in 1 week ?).

Last time I enjoyed the game so much was in early GoD when we were progressing in Qvic (killing Msha's 3 times a day before the 2nd guild was flagged!) and once more I htink the great pleasure was mostly due to having a good group of skilled and dedicated people.

The only thing I HATE this days is the way the Humming runes drop. It's certainly not broken, just very badly implemented. What frustrates me even more is that it would be SO EASY to fix (add Hummings in crystallos trash for instance, or add them in MMM / Crystallos tables ...) and they don't even give us an answer with a time schedule...

The right fix for Humming runes is to have higher runes "overflow" to lower level spells.

Yea, considering it cost 50k to change cores I was pretty surprised to hear only 1k plat. But it's not Wednesday yet so we'll see.

Evening all...

Didn't read through all the posts (hello Ughbash, long time no see), but personally i never felt bored playing EQ. There's always something to do, and if you cannot reach your current most wanted goal / item / whatever, switch to something else to have fun ! Anyone remember here Shaman 1.0, Test of Patience, Erud's Crossing ? Well, i personally see playing EQ as a life-long "Test of Patience" - regarding whatever you grab out for, it'll come to you if you just try hard enough, but it'll take time, sometimes very very very long times (I only say BiC, and 1 1/2 RL years - nuff said ).

As to giving up regarding when certain people tell the Developers something and them suggestions are not heard or not taken into the next expansion one on one as suggested - blatantly spoken, "Thats's life". As long as the person suggesting things isn't a Developer paid by SoE, pouring even more lifetime into this game (and that it is, for me at least) will leave a person burned out rather quickly.
