Hey, I am starting EQ after about 5 years not playing LOL (no i dont remember anything really). My friends have been playing and I have wanted to come back. What I am looking for is a class that has some high-brid potential (as in not a main healing/DPS/tank), some solo ability so I can do something while LFG, and a high group demand. I dont post a lot and I read a bunch on the class' and such but I wanted to ask before I made this toon because I know I will stick with what I make and I dont want to end up high lvl and re-rolling. So after reading, a shaman looked about right am I looking at the right class for those three items I want?

Well, shamans can definitely solo. And they're definitely in good demand for groups (slow+healing+melee boost). The only downside is you might get asked to main heal.

As a shaman on raids I main heal my group 100% of the time and frequently main heal in groups (though that is highly dependent on zone).

I think if you're a class with heals, and you're not bad at EQ, you will be the main healer in a group either some or most of the time.

Shamans pretty good at it. I am not that good at EQ, and I tend to find myself very focused on healing when I am the main healer, whereas a druid or cleric can do a lot of other stuff while main healing, I tend to just heal, slow, sting, cougar/panther,lassitude (which is really a form of slowing and healing) with an epic tossed in when I think of it. and cani. lots and lots of cani...
Brogh pretty much does everything a shaman can while main healing, and knits a scarf for his gramma.
