For quite a few people, that would be an uber range item.
Aug slot?
Well, what happens to the aug everytime your weapon dings?

I personaly look forward to all the idiocys that occur around these toys.
Do you have to feed it exp? does it leech off of your exp?
Do I lose 20%(like leadership AAs) exp when my smart weapon is leveling?

And the most important question of all (drum roll)
How do living weapons get born?
Where do they come from?
How do they progenate?
Are we going to see people marying their weapons?
How much caffiene and sugar is too much for a kitten in a lime hat?
How many more stupid, truly silly questions can we(or at least me) come up wiht ?

I like this concept and hope they are creative with the types of item abilities that you can obtain. It is a refreshing twist on leveling and improving gear. Basing an opinion on a single item that was meant to be tested is pretty rash.

I really gotta agree with kozul here. I think its a lame idea, doesnt appeal to me at all. While sure, im willing to give er a go, i still think it sounds retarted.

I just came back, headed to 70, and then i need about a bazillion more AA points. The thought of leveling up my gear -- not so fun. Even if i had a bazillion AA points, i still would rather do somthing else besides work for the gear i already worked for in the first place. For people like me its already hard enough to keep up with gear. Now i gotta level it too?

I'm really unconvinced about intelligent items. If all they do is emote or say stuff, then all they are doing is adding to the spam. Things can be funny the first 5-10 times, after than I want to turn it off. I hope there is a filter for these items that chat, so I can shut the bloody things up.

Evolving items, is another matter. Not really convnced about them either. Equip a crappy item with sub-par stats until it becomes better than something I am already using...

Evolving items only talk to you when you equip them. I was fooling around one day, took off my evolving item, put it back on- lo and behold, it talked! Tried it again, took about 20 tries, but it talked to me again. So it seems like it wont be just randomly spamming you with bad jokes like jester or something.
