How Hungry Plague Works

Just to clear something up here. Not sure how many people actually know how the spell works.
Once you infect a mob with the plague, he will spread it to others near him.
AFTER this happens, you can then cast Turgurs/Nihil/Discord on any of the infected mobs.
From there the 40% slow from Hungry Plague will be overwritten, and Turgurs/Nihil/Discord will begin to spread.
Do NOT scoff at this spell because you do not like the 40% intial slow from it.
If hungry plague lands, you can basically slow everything in the area by 75% with one cast.
This spell is far from useless, it just needs its recast/resist rate looked at.

not that you're wrong, but i don't really understand how that could possibly be how the spell was intended to work. it just doesn't make much sense at all. why would it even have a slow component if you're supposed to cast another slow after that? just to remove the effect so that it doesn't chain react on mobs that aren't in the immediate vicinity when you overwrite the spell? i don't see how other mobs could get infected that aren't standing right there when you cast turg, because sloth is no longer present.
i dunno. i mean, i guess its possible this is what they had in mind with this spell, but i really cant imagine anyone conceiving that plan unless they were on some crazy heroin bender or something.

I did some more testing and saw why I wasnt seeing the infection on the spell during my first tests.
Infection stops if you use Discord or Turgur on them it will slow them all but infection stops when HP is overwritten.
Also HP needs to wear off before it can be infected again. So any mobs infected will go a full 6 seconds without being slowed every minute.
So I would say a few things need fixing.
HP needs to stack with other slows like VS does so mobs continue to be infected.
Recast needs to be looked into badly shouldnt matter if this is refreshable every tick because the mobs are proccing it every tick....
HP needs to be able to reinfect already infected mobs so we dont have 6 seconds of mobs not being slowed.
For me I guess the biggest problem I have though is the 40% slow.... its not like the Chanters got a 40% mitigated Mez for their infectious spell.
One of the reasons I see they might not fix the recast is if you infect more than 1 mob you get different timers running which helps with the gap in slows if you only infect one mob.
This spell would rock if it infected mobs with VS and sent the run back to us..... VS and HP dont overwrite each other so would be the ultimate combo.
Alas it doesnt work.
I see a use for this atm is slowing trains 6 seconds it would infect the entire train then you could Tugur the whole train.
Problem with that is living through anything but a green train....
I have yet to find any use for LS though other than annoying people you cast it on with did not take hold messages.

Well, if they do not change its ability to spread dots, I guess it would make a nice farming tool:)
Pull all of sebillis. I mean, all of it. Cast hungry. Cast 3 dots. Sebillis cleared.
