Magic Focus Choice

Rit's gloves suck, same as the shoes. 0 mods just doesn't pass muster. If you want to upgrade healing focus before Dragon Health, and object to Bazu Stones, then just get Ring of the Serpent from Tacvi. It comes with solidly respectable 3%'s on Spell & Dot shielding. On hands loot from MPG Mastery of Specialization raid, or if you can't get those (since those are the best), then from Council of the Nine in Depths.

For head I am a big fan of Rit's hat.

I don't understand the aversion you guys harbor toward the type 12 augment construction process. It's a bit complex, but easily treated as a repeatable quest for very uber armor. There's even great exp along the way, camping gargoyle dusts in Illsalin and shadowmane pelts in Dreadspire.

That's 12039 damage from one cast of Curse of Sisslak and Bane with Bane of the Dragorn (25% duration), Thunder of Anguish (45% magic), and I'm just about to ding Affliction Mastery 2. Woot!

Question: do I have these crit percentages right?
+3% from CA1 for 3 AAs
+3% from CA2 for 6 more AAs
+3% from CA3 for 9 more AAs
+3% from ICA1 for 3 more AAs
+3% from ICA2 for 6 more AAs
+3% from ICA3 for 9 more AAs
+3% from AM1 for 7 more AAs
+3% from AM2 for 7 more AAs

+3% from Power otK/DR (DoN Tier 4, quested)

for a total of:
30% chance to crit a dot tic for 51 AAs plus quest AA.

Do I have that right?
Is there any other method if increasing the chance to crit a dot tic? I was sure there was a critical affliction focus, but I couldn't find one.

Thanks. I did a reassessment of my gear, swapped some augs around, and have come up with the following setup:

When I expect to be dotting and not healing much, I swap out my Aegis of the Amber Moon (AC: 85, HP: +310, 70 saves, Quickening of the Ikaav) for my Aegis of the Dragorn Elders (AC: 95, HP: +285, 85 saves, Thunder of Anguish, Burning Affliction V). Other shield is in top right bag in magelo, with most of my swap/clicky gear. Although if I find that with the Magic focus I don't cast many poison or diesase dots, I will try to rep the BA5 aug with some AC or HP... I guess I need to camp those pesky AC augs. I wish Affliction Efficiency wasn't so hard to get (350k in bazaar).
