The is what you need to upgrade your DFT2 armor to DFT3. You must buy a and combine the Steam Core and the armor. The Steam Core Embedder is bought from in Dragonscale Hills, who is on the Ak'anon Strike Force V faction [need indifferent faction to see it] for 1500pp. Steam Cores drop in SHIP, MMM, and in the Gyrospheres.

The , , , or are used to upgrade your DFT3 armor to DFT4, using . They drop off of mini-named in the Crystallos zone [btw, the named can spawn off of any mob kill, so beware, named are called An Elder XXX Wyvern, etc.]. Each essence has it's own advantages and disadvantages. Note also, do not confuse with [used for a Crusaders of Veeshan quest, one for each -en essence type].

A with Amiable with Crusaders of Veeshan faction for 500pp can be used to combine all 4 of the essences into a . That essence is used to upgrade DFT3 armor to DFT4.5 armor [I have no idea if you can combine DFT4 armor with the Prismatic Essence to get DFT4.5, best to be safe about it, the essences should be common enough]. The Prismatic Essence has all of the positives of each essence, but none of the negatives.

You use an to insert an Essence [any type, including the Prismatic] into DFT3 armor to make the DFT4 and DFT4.5 armor. It is sold for 2500pp at Amiable with Crusaders of Veeshan faction. An item, the can be bought [450pp?] and used to remove an Essence from your DFT4 and DFT4.5 armor [returns the armor to DFT3 state], and return the Essence to you.

FWIW, alloy-linked is actually Tier 2 armour, Tier 3 is the steam core upgraded version and Tier 4 are all the Crystallos upgraded versions.

Yes, I know it's daft that there's no Tier 1 armour, but that's the way Merloc named it.

Tier 4 BPs have a slot 15, for emblems sold by merchants of the various factions. I don't know the stats though, as I believe they're scripted in the way charms etc are.

Just logged onto beta (yes, it's still up ) and checked the chromalinked legs / feet - they're 18% detrimental haste and 20% beneficial haste respectively:

That's why I'm using A, B and C. A is the first available tier, dropped in "Tier II" zones.

Chromalink is the prismatic (ie all essence) tier 4 group stuff.

Prismatic high seer is the prismatic (all essence) tier 4 raid gear.

And, as can be seen, Merloc divided the armour up according to element - tier 4 air, water, earth, fire and prismatic, the latter being the best.

T4 & 4.5 are made in similar fashion, the T4.5 is just a combination of all of the essences (instead of just 1 essence, which is what T4 is). Tremorchain is the single Earth Essence form. Chromalink is the prismatic essence form of the armor. All of this is GROUP GEAR ONLY!

Raid gear follows a somewhat similar path. The DFT2 raid armor is NOT a drop from a the same as the group DFT2 group mobs, and is upgradable to DFT3 raid armor using , a . Embedder is bought from the same merchant as the Steam Core Embedder listed in my original post. I'm guessing that there's a raid-level set of 4 essences (or perhaps it is the same essences as the group armor), any one of those 4 essences can be used to upgrade DFT3 raid armor to DFT4 raid armor. Those 4 essences would also be combinable into a Prismatic-type essence, which would upgrade DFT3 to DFT4.5. There also is another option for getting the initial DFT1 armor by completing a certain number of raids to unlock a raid gear mold merchant (no previous drops needed, just combine the mold and the gyro core).


Another note, updated my previous post with links and corrected a few things.

Another request for those that have access to Beta still [hint Retron] can we get the names of the DFR3, & DFR4 armors? We know from above that the DFR4.5 armor is named Prismatic High Seer's, if we can find out the name of the rest of DF4, that would be nice.

There's an error in the top post Sam, it's the focuses (projected) on the DFT4 and DFT4.5 for Beneficial Haste and Detrimental Haste %'s. They should read:

What's I've read from Dev comments on the SOE boards indicates that there is Tier 1 armor, just not any in this sequence. It's mainly filler pieces [ie necks, fingers, etc...] to complement the Katta Ally Gear.

Couple of things on the Lvl 80 Gear link. Some of the Rank A droppers need to be updated, see my list above. You have Mob and Zone backwards. On the Rank C, you can post the link from my post above on the item you need to combine the Essences to form the Prismatic Essence and the item to remove an Essence.
