Ritualchanter hat or Alloy-linked hat?

I have a which I really like for the 12% specialize alteration mod. But it is otherwise a pretty outdated item. I recently got a which, is somewhat of an upgrade even in its beginning state, and when I get a steam core in it, the stats will be so much better.

But: that 12% specialize alteration mod. It's hard to give that up. So my compromise plan is to use the Ritualchanter hat when I am the group's healer, and the Alloy-link when I am soloing (and therefore mostly dotting, and getting smacked around some).

Does that make sense? Or am I missing something?

Get to go along with the Alloy Hat, just need a slot 8 spot for it.

I wouldn't shake a stick at losing 7% stun resist either. That's a -lot-. You're not capped, and you're going to have a really hard time making that up with SoF gear.

If you're a good shaman, that spec alter mod is irreplaceable. Get some buddies (it'll take a good full group at that gear level, and you might want two so it's easy) and do the Commonlands LDoN raid for the spec alter aug so you can continue upgrading your gear.
