The Spirit Realm

On the 1.5 pre-quest it says to turn in the black fur boots as the first step. To get the boots, do I need to do all of the 1.0 up to that point, or just kill the Black Dire and turn in the pelt?

If you haven't done any of the 1.0, you may not have the required faction to receive the boots upon turning in the pelt. I'd suggest doing the quest up to the Black Dire; should take less than an hour.
