I really don't understand why something linked from the dropdown menus at the top needs to be reproduced in a forum as well.

Please help me understand - what's the logic there? Do people just not trust the menus or something?

I agree that it does make sense. I had forgotten that there was such a list there to be added to.

However, like many of the medicine cabinet posts, I also have instructions at the bottom of how to find that info in the menus.

I'm sure this will come out sounding all bitchy, but every time I add a page, I not only edit and upload the header file for the static page navigation, but I have to telnet to my workstation at work, ssh in to the server, and hand code the new navigation menu entries on both the ezSerenity and subSiver header files. I guess I figure if I can do all that each time, people can click on them to find the most current info.

The info on the non-forum pages, by and large, is the stuff that was constantly getting looked up on the forums, and was put on the Ref Desk to be more convenient. I don't understand the desire to take the info that I have already culled and formatted from posts here, there and everywhere else, and placed on reference pages grouped by subject matter, and put that info in yet another post.

I now have flashing arrows on the default theme to draw peoples' attention to the menus. I can make them into giant CLICK HERE OMG!!1! blinkies if that will help... okay, just kidding, I did that and it was to much. But I did leave the small, maybe even subtle blinking arrows.

Sam, the drop-down menus totally rule and contain vast quantities of useful information. Kudos to you for putting in the effort to make them available. However, no other board I've seen has such a MASSIVELY USEFUL feature. [/kissbutt off]

I think people are conditioned to just look to the forum threads/posts for their information. These boards are still very new, so hopefully with time and exposure the drop-down menus will receive more attention. On the other hand, you're lucky if people actually scroll down and read some thread titles before just posting their question, let alone click "search", so don't set your hopes too high.
