Todays groupmobs T8+ have resist modifier from -600 and more.
So if the start of calculation does not begin at 700 cap, but at real worn + buffed, Resist buffs for shure are not complete useless, right or wrong?
My worn stuff is around 800 to 850. I thought those resist modifier start at the 700 and all resists are capped there, but this seems to have been a false assumption.

Buffing Tribunal is still beneficial if mobs throwing poisonous AE's or diesease-based stuff unless your worn + buffed - mobs resist modifier does exeed 200. Is that right?

Also note that Prathun has corrected himself, saying that he does (in fact) not know how the system works, but that it seems more reasonable (and in line with what people have shown) to assume that the resist mod checks after both resist reductions and the cap are applied.

Hmm still not clear with that.

I will throw out some statemens of how I thought it would work since:

If a mob lands a debuff on you like malis or tash, the reduction is not calculated from the shown cap (700) but the sum of all stats from gear + buffs.

If a mob cast a spell that has an Resist mod like "Resistance Modifier: -650" the calculation of that starts with the shown stat, and not with the full stats of gear + spells. If it happend to you that you got a mobs debuff first, it could be that your shown resist is not at cap. In that case it could be of benefit to have a resistbuff on you.

More stats shown should result in more resists, so rising cap by AAs from 650 to 700 had some effect as it helps to counter the spells: "Resistance Modifier"

Additional infos like I now think it is the case:

If the remaining resists after applying spells "resistans modifier" is more than 200, your chance to resist the spell is 100%.
If the remaining resists after applying spells "resistans modifier" is more than 100, your chance to resist the spell is 50%.
If the remaining resists after applying spells "resistans modifier" is more than 50, your chance to resist the spell is 25%.

Each level the mob is higher than you adds aprox. 5% to the likehood the spell will hit you and viece versa.

In addition to all that, each spell can have a "Maximum Resist cap" possibly "unknown191" in lucys data.
This "Maximum Resist cap" is applied in the case, your remaining resist after applying "Resistance Modifier" is above this value.
This "Maximum Resist cap" warrants the mob a certain % of likehood to land his spells no matter how much resist stats you have.

A "Maximum Resist cap" of 100 for example warrants the mob a 50% chance to land his spell.

Is that about how it works?
So the mechanic how it works remain the same as I always thought.
New for me is the information about which stat result in approx. which likehood to resist and the existance of a "Maximum Resist cap".

Simpler:

After debuffs (pre-cap application) and resist mods (post-cap application) have been applied, each 2 resistance gives you a 1% chance to resist a spell cast by a mob your level.

For each level above you the mobs is, remove 5% of your resist chance.

Some spells have a (recently discovered) maximum resist rate- if your resists are above that (ie, you have 125 after applying debuffs and resist mods and the max resist is 100), then your resists are further reduced to that maximum resist rate, and then the rest of the calculations are the same.
