Essential spells at 90 - not including HOT.

Hi guys,

I'm leveling up a Shaman along with my main(monk) and have a question about spells. I've all but ignored most spells from 70 to 84(shaman's current level) in a race to 90. Assuming I get all the HoT spells once I hit 86 - 90, what are the other spells that I should go back and get from 70 - 85. I didn't want to waste time farming or waste plat on stuff I'll be replacing with HOT spells, but I'm sure there are still commonly used stuff prior to it.

Was there some ninja change to Thorn Wilting that I missed? Saying a spell that doesn't even do what it was advertised to do is an essential spell boggles my mind. Unless of course like I said there was a ninja fix to it that I missed. Last time I checked it is a beneficial spell that removes spell damage shield from your target but does not remove worn damage shield, thus if you want 0 damage shield this spell doesn't do that. Some thought it removed damage shield from mobs but a couple tests of this showed otherwise. I admit I haven't tested it lately because I assumed that if SoE made such a fix it would have either been in patch notes or there would have been a thread about it working differently now here.

As for spells that won't get replaced with HoT I think they have pretty much been covered here. I would definitely go with Talisman of Celerity over Swift Like the Wind just for the duration. Preincarnation is the same as Second Life except if you die it has a chance to fire a similar effect on your group so I wouldn't bother with Second Life
