is a very nice earring which drops off trash in Yxxta. Over the last few weeks whenever i've been lfg or had little time to group and concentrate on EQ, I've been gonig to Yxxta to solo in an attempt to get it

If you zone into Yxxta using the west enterance from KT you'll be faced with 2 mobs at the zone in, either 'a wary hynid' or a 'A Ravenous Cragbeast'. Both of the mobs are rootable, slowable and don't summon. They both are single pullable. Usually after using mali decay or putrid decay VP holds for full duration on the hynids, but I always keep normal root up for the occasional early break. For the crags you need to use normal root and refresh every 30% or so. Basic strat is to pull with a debuff (malos for crag, DR debuff for the hynids) and root them using VP or a root spell depending on the mob type. From there on its just a usual root rot technique. If things go wrong the zone out out is less than 10 seconds away.

Also, every few minutes 'a noc swiftblade' will roam up between where the two mobs are that can drop the earring. The noc is the same as them, slowable, rootable, doesn't summon (root works better than VP). It has a chance of dropping ring, personally its not a big upgrade and I'm hoping to get a different ring from elsewhere so I never bothered with him so I have no idea on the drop rate.

For me it took about 2, 2 hour sessions and 1, 3 hour session to eventually get the earring while afk inbetween spawns (20 mins) doing stuff irl. The exp is fairly nice, 7-9% AA each kill at level 70 but as you only kill 2 mobs/20 mins its not a good place if you want to solo out some fast AAs. Hope this helps people towards getting what I think is a great earring.

That little ukun SOB used to be the bane of my existence. He hangs out in the valley between Yxtta East and West entrances off Kod'Taz, and wanders back and forth between the two. He'll pause at the T intersection for a bit. (I owe him a few deaths, come to think of it.) You can easily get around him if you stop at the T intersection and check for him. Stay as high on the walls as you can on the one side, or on top of the real big boulder on the other side (near Tublick) and you should be fine.

The maps I got from mapfiend.net have a safe path to yxtta. Basically you keep high on the right wall until you come to the first intersection (one straight, one right). You keep going straight past that running across the valley onto the next wall. You keep high up on the right wall until you have a chance to make another right. You make that right and keep up on the right wall like you have been. The next intersection (one straight, one right), you will go right this time but you will cross over to the left wall asap keeping high up on it. You take that until you reach another intersection (one left, one right). you will go straight until you hit the wall then you will keep the wall to your left (facing west). Keeping moving straight until you hit the zone in.
