My guild has been in Anguish for over a year now, and seriously trying to kill him on and off for about 3 months, but he's still not dead yet. The gear needed to kill him is outrageous, tanks need to have a BP honestly in the case of a mistake in mask clicking. This is the hardest event in the game so far for my guild, and from what I hear from guilds in demi-plane, he's harder than that too (don't know about end-game PoR yet, so, he may be easier than those).
His drops would be nice additions to most players, but, honestly, your guild leader was right to go do gearing up mobs/trials as opposed to wasting time on him after your first AMV kill (and only second AMV attempt).
Our tanks are around 15-16khp/3100-3200ac unbuffed and they get raped by him in short time. His adds suck, period. Theres a whole bunch to this script and it's friggin long. Once you have the script figured out, I'm sure it's a lot easier, but, it's still a long fight in any case (at least I'm pretty sure it is). Most guilds that have killed him don't farm him, because the risk/reward on him is just too bad and there is always a chance of a lag spike/late click/whatever and you then just wasted 54 (or so) x 1 hour = 54 man-hours on a mob. That's time much better spent elsewhere IMHO. That said, I still want to kill him, he's still up when we're done and that just makes me sad.
