The Spirit Realm

My guild attempted Battlemaster Rhorious last night for the first time. We had no problem killing BM, but kiters had issues and the adds got to the raid. We killed all 3 Groundpounders but had a partial (well, nearly total) wipe with the Snake and Goat still up. We quickly recovered but just before we re-established aggro on them, they de-popped.

All the strats I could find suggest to kite the adds and kill in reverse order (GPs, Goat then Snake). There was no discussion why they must be kited (i.e. BM killed first) or why they must be killed in that order. We had absolutely no problem keeping our MT up against BM, and are considering just off-tanking BM and killing the adds as they come active. Any advice?

We are a Time guild, who is about to start Ikky raid trials. Our tanks are 13-14k with 2k AC.

We always tanked the snake and goat rather than kiting them because the snake never seemed to want to be kited well and the goat had the poison ae that could be really bad. That obviously requires a bit more healing but we managed it fine. Also seemed to have better luck keeping the snake on a non plate class. Usually a bst or ranger. We did kite the ground pounders and kill them first after killing rhorious.

As far as killing the adds before rhorious that can be done but you'll still have to deal with all the adds at once. IE you can't beat on rhorius till goat spawns, kill him and then go back to rhorius to spawn the snake. The adds will spawn as soon as any of the mobs health gets to the correct point so getting the goat to 50% will spawn both the snake and the ground pounders.
