Solo and duo suggestions requested

Postby Kianor » Wed Jan 21, 2009 7:45 am

As Amanensia has also posted in the Paladin section, we are both returning part time to EQ as something to do. Currently we are 78 shaman and 80 paladin.

I stopped playing over a year ago, I think before the previous expansion came out, but I came back a bit to level to 80 and didn't quite make it! :) Aman stopped under a year ago. We both have pretty good gear for the time we stopped (a mix of TSS and Solteris raid stuff) which isn't quite so good now, having seen links of 1000hp items! But I think it should be good enough to get by.

I would like some suggestions for soloing, so I can catch up a little. Is root/rot still the way to go for a shaman, or is a merc tank a better bet? Although I don't have a lot of cash any more, so a merc might be out anyway. What are the good spots for both these?

Also, what are the good spots and options for duoing?

I'm reading up about the new expansion etc too, and we do intend to do the progression stuff there as we can. Is any progression possible with our duo and maybe adding mercs or do we need to find more?

Also, if anyone has any shaman specific hints and tips about what has changed since I went away, that would be most appreciated! Particularly AAs and spells to get.

might think about the two high level hot zones.

Level 70: Valdeholm
Augment -- Shard of Phenomenal Power

Level 75: Dreadspire Keep
Augment -- Shard of True Power

I've heard that the top lvl85 tank merc is about 700dps. It's not to hard for a shammy to sustain over 1000 dps at your level, from what I've seen here. So....root/rot if you're solo, for sure. Or, depending on gear, tank/melee lower light blues might be better xp.
