Journey or novice merc ?

Hello fellows,

I just came back in EQ after a few months away, and I would like to hire a merc, healer type can help me solo named (I can do it really solo in ocean but I have to use many AAs), so I wonder if I should take novice rank5 or journeyman rank1 (I mostly solo, all previous guildies changed server or are gone).

I found the following info so far in :

"So given the choice between an Apprentice Rank V vs. Journeyman Rank 1, the Journeyman merc will be more likely to run but only if faced by a more/stronger enemies than needed to frighten the Apprentice merc. This is in addition to having Rk2 spells/disciplines and slightly better armor."

PS: I just finished Bayle's aug and want to do void progression but that may be hard soloing or duoing...

I personally utilize a Journeyman Rk.1 merc, and so far I have not seen the merc run away from danger. I originally tried the Tier 5 novice, and had a few times where the merc ran in the same hunting grounds that I have taken the Journeyman. One other reason I went this route is the Journeyman has the Tier 2 spells, and also will 96% rez you. It is my understanding that the novice mercs only have the 90% rez.
