Coming back, 4 box crew

Hi Guys,

It has been a while since I have been here, or even played EQ (Sep 2010). Recently I found out that some of my friends are playing, and I have decided to come back. I used to play a Druid Main, with box Mage, Shaman and Ench (mainly because our guild had very few Enchanters at the time).

The problem is that I can not transfer my characters over to the server my friends play on, because it is Vulak'Aerr, the Timelocked/vote progression server, Sony won't let any transfer to this server.

With that in mind, if I want to play again, I have to start from the scratch. Just so you know, this server just voted to unlock the Plane of Powers expansion, so there are no Mercs.

Anyways, I was trying to decide on a box combo. Since I played a Druid so long, I feel comfortable starting a new Druid on this server, I was thinking something like a Druid/Mage/Sham/SK combo or maybe a SK, Sham, Wiz, Mage combo. I haven't played a Melee class passed level 30, and I was just playing around with the idea of playing an SK. Any ideas which combo would be better, or any other box combo that you guys have suggestions for would be great.

Thank you.

Really depends on how long you plan on being on the server. If you think for the long hall it's tough to beat a sk, shaman, bard, necro combo. As the next few expansion come out that combo is only going to get stronger and strong. Alternatively sk, cleric, wiz, bard will hold you over for a long time as well.

There will also be a time period when you will need a back up healer for the shaman I think it was TSS but could be wrong can't remember. Frankly though listing out the best box crew is difficult on progression because it really changed over the years.

I 5box now and run a mage, shaman, necro, bard, sk combo. Just killed a name in CoB and in all group gear I hit 75k boxed dps on the named and I can hardly maximize my dps playing 5 chars on 2 computers.

Anyway I think for your time period of pop say through anguish I'd look at something like bard, necro/wiz, cleric, sk. You could go ench instead of bard if you plan on charming but the above combo would probably hold up the longest since you don't have mercs now. It won't be the best combo several expansions down the road however.
