I feel quite out of place posting here actualy ... I have been lurking for several weeks, mostly just reading over many posts. My observation is that the game these days is all about the high end ... thats not bad, but it makes my lowbie questions seem insignificant! When last I played, and I'm dating myself here, Deep Water was UBER for Paladins. Boy ... how things have changed.
I am lost with many things about the game right now, and I am sure I will have many questions in the future.
So...
I am a casual gamer (unlike last time), and I am glad to see the changes they have made to game play that supports alot of soloing and questing. I will not likley ever raid again (married with children) so I am content to play an Erudite Paladin ... just because it's unusual and provides a good oportunity to role play.
I had a whole background story made up about why he only uses 2HB weapons, but I am starting to think thats a bad choice (of course it is). After soloing outside of Crushbone last night, the Orc Shamans drove it home that I have to have BASH. So, I will likley get cheap 1hs, 2hs, and 1hb, get buffed and go work on those, along with bash. No deaths last night, but the Shamans hurt me far worse than the Cents!
I have tried to get Magelo working, but, as I didnt load EQ in the default location I think it's not "seeing" EQ. I'll keep working on it.
I am currently level 12, and have the following equiptment:

Now when it comes to equiptment, I am (what used to be known as) an "AC Whore". AC is GOD, followed by HP/RESISTS. I have had to slightly rethink that with the Erudite. From the go my STR, STA, DEX,a nd AGI, suffered. But, with the above equiptment I have managed to get my STR and STA both over 100 (101 each), and my DEX to 90. My AGI is still suffering at 75.
I popped into bazaar yesterday to try and spend my hard earned 50PP on ears and fingers, but, not finding much that impressed me, I upgraded my HEAD, WAIST, and WEAPON slots instead.
Im not unfarmilier with upgrading equiptment, whats getting me at this point is that I am lost when it comes to equiptment value/prices, I could be getting screwed and not even know it. I know every servers economy is different ( currently play on Povar), but some sugested upgrades and fair price input would be appreciated.
I guess it's apperent that I have no PP to twink/upgrade with, which I dont mind, but upgrading will be baby steps for me. I am working on saving another 50PP to head to bazaar again and look for decent finger, ear items ... I really want to fill those slots. Any suggestions? After that I will begin working on upgrading the slots that have Leather.
Also - what is going to be the aproximate base price for me to get some lowend haste item, and what would those items be?
I could likley ramble on, but I wont.
It's good to be back to playing EQ, and to see this Paladin board going strong.
