I certainly remember the Name from the old PoN boards.

Paladins have a great utility these days in higher content.

Our Heals with Burst of Sunlight can be very usefull, our curing abilities are much sought after, and we can still Off Tank as well as we ever could.

I am happy with the state of the class on the whole, of course we all want want want something else but as it stands were not in a bad position.

Lots of good changes in the time you've been gone, I believe (not sure when you left -- what was the last expansion you played in? Death has less sting now in EQ; you still lose exp so there's that penalty, but it's very easy to retrieve your body, and even after a week it doesn't rot, but goes to an indefinite holding pen. Gameplay in general got easier and being a paladin got funner, at least for me (nb, I was relatively high on the gear/AA scale the last year or two, which does make a difference) and they have some new ideas for character & gear development. For me there was a lot more to do than press auto-attack, but that was always true as paladin =) If I recall, you were big into the healing set up, high level pallies were valued for healing roles more than ever when I left, so that was fun.

I can only speak up until about Feb. 2006 as I retired when I got a new job, which I am loving. Law librarian now instead of lawyer, yay!

I am messing around a bit in WoW (for the second time) and I know what you mean about dying, I'm playing a pally alt and I do stupid things a lot because eh, who cares if I die? I got in my first group with her the other day and was a shockingly bad player, I would have been complaining SO much as my priest if I got a group with a pally that bad ;p But I don't really have to learn how to play at my best to solo to 22 (so far).

My wife and I recently returned to EQ after over 2 years away. There's a lot more new AA's, a lot of new places to go, and my paladin (thanks largely to Fulorian and Dark Horizons) is now able to actually solo for xp (in a limited number of places, but I digress).

It has been a LOT of fun for me being back, and I would reccommend anyone who left the game pick it back up for a month or two and see if it's as much fun as you remember. Even though the sting of death isn't NEARLY as bad as it used to be in EQ, you still do get that sharp concern when a pull goes bad. For the first month. Then you get used to the new system and realize, meh, you can always get your corpse and a 96% rez, so why not at least TRY something risky?

Anyway, I came back, and my wife and I are still having a great time. Give it a shot!

I didn't mean to come off as cocky, I was moreso making an observation that they haven't upgraded the AC very much in TSS gear... or people on my server slack .

Bagar the Sexy, only people that have validated their magelo using magelo update are on that listing. There is no reliable way, unless you want to call that abomination of eqplayers "reliable" and pay them to search, to rank players anymore.
