If you're into quests, you can always do the Staff of the Wheel quest which results in the , which is inventory clickable by anyone. The only hitch is that you need an open inventory slot to put it - you can't just pick up a bag temporarily because you need to be holding the item you want to ID on your cursor.

I don't think Identify gives you the EQ Item ID number, so I would try the ;tell (itemlink) idea if that still works. The item ID should be at the end of the error string you get with that method. Looking at the on Lucy, I find:

Rithnok's Soulstone (4 shards)
RCoD = 69937
Dranik Scar = 69938
Bloodfields = 69939
Noble's Causeway = 69940

Reiya's Soulstone (2 shards)
Vuranish Xxuro = 69943
Shade of Reiya the Pained = 69944

Drema's Soulstone (2 shards)
Coterie Corruptor = ID 69950
Shade of Mujaki the Devourer = 69951

Otherwise, go get a from Kael, or bug an INT caster to help you with identify. The Item Lore on each shard indicates which Soulstone the shard is part of, though it doesn't say which mob dropped it. (i.e. Coterie Corruptor shard identifies as "One of two shards for Drema's Soulstone")
