Ive seen it drop on the 3rd level one time, maybe twice I cant remember. I would think their coding would make it truly a zonewide drop and your luck is just bad for it to not drop on the bottom 2 levels, Ive killed in guardian so many times and probably seen it drop about 6 times total, maybe thats bad luck for me when I see everyone linking it and saying it only took 1-2 hours to get from just grinding up to the top.

Thanks for the feedback. I'd guess part of why people tend to see it more on the higher levels is because people tend to have more reasons to fight in the higher levels. I don't even think my luck can qualify as bad at this point; the Magelo numbers would say that it should take a few hundred mobs to see one. I've probably done 125 to 150 at this point. The catch is that if I need to be on higher levels, I may just punt on doing it solo, because tiptoeing around see invis and dealing with wanderers is annoying as hell. If I can just mindlessly solo the lower levels, knowing that one will eventually show up, that I can do.

In related news, soloed my FC AC aug and Valdeholm AC aug in the last few days. Very doable at 85.

Seen it drop on all levels of the mechanic guardian. Did spend a lot of time camping for armor for alts though.

In other aug news, did Geartop today boxing my paladin and shaman, with a cleric merc. Just killed tiny tops as they spawned then back on geartop, was pretty easy. So at 85, that is significantly easier.

No aug though in 6 hours there =/

For the record, mine finally did drop, after the bot ranger had gotten 3 1/4 levels heh... for the record, by that time I had taken to setting up camp with the ranger bot in the first big room up the first teleporter, with all the soots. Plenty of mobs for chain pulling. That is where I eventually got the aug.

Okay, added those in too, with some educated guesses as to where they come from (Magelo shows the Rallosian Casterix coming from RCC, so that one is confirmed, although dunno if it drops in more than one zone). The other guesses were based on names of mobs (like Ksathrax and Pallorax are named mobs in Korafax raids, and there's a Curator in Discord #3)

This is a great post that has been a lot of help. Like a lot of lvl 85 paladins I have decent 25+ AC augs in all slots and I'm looking to bump the 25s to 30 or 35s where possible. There are a lot of good groupable augs in UF but I play at odd times so I end up soloing a lot. I don't box and its hard to get a group to play in old content, so I'm looking for suggestions as to any good ac augs that are soloable (with merc) or maybe duoable based on current player capabilities, including ones that used to be considered "groupable" or even raid-required.

I've found a few myself, which I'll recommend here (comments based on 85 paladin, max defensives roughly 6000 ac fully buffed):

Prismatic Gemstone +35 (random Crystallos) - I'm soloing there now, pretty easy but slow, waiting for it to drop
White Dragon Scale +35 (OMM vendor, not exactly soloable since you have to group to due missions but those groups are easy to get so I'll include it)
Red Dragon Scale +32 (OMM vendor, see comments after white dragon scale above)
Sphere of Purest Ice +30 (OMM vendor, same)
Polished Moonstone +30 (OMM vendor, same)
Frosty Gem of Enhanced Protection +35 (Frozen Nightmare LDON raid, technically need 6 to get the raid but the others can afk or even drop, I duoed this with a similarly equipped SK and it was overkill, two of these augs dropped, it may be soloable if you can dps enough on the last mob to overcome his regen when he banishes you)
Crest of the Scarlet Legions +30 (Argil Opressor in Ashengate, slow camp easy fight)
Forged Froststeel Ingot +30 (Rallosian Acolyte Aemon in Frostcrypt)
Illsalin Enforcer Medal +30 (Last Migration in DoD, need 3 to get the mission, but you can easily do this alone and have fun slaughtering the undead while doing it)
Jewel of the Stalwart +30 (Royal Cryptguard Zerakt in Valdeholm, kind of hard to break this camp, may help to bring a puller along)

I'm surprised and encouraged to hear that you think those are all moloable - if thats the case I may play the odds by checking the drop rates on magelo and going for the less rare ones, the prismatic gemstone is proving to be elusive

I did do the bayles aug, its a fantastic aug and most of the tasks were moloable for me when I was in the 81-83 lvl range, needed groups for the end events obviously, but that was a lot of fun and you rack up a lot of chronobines along the way.

I just discovered that the loyalty vendor in PoK is selling various forms of currency, including Facytum - only 14 loyalty points buys you 100 faycitum so if anyone still needs to get warleader pearl (+30 ac) or coleoptera beetle eye (+30 ac) now is your chance to do so without running a bunch of tedious missions to get the currency!

New HoT Augs

Theres a couple nice new augs in HoT that are easy to camp.

First one i hit was in house of thule lower zone. Head into the main building and take the bottom right door (SE). You will go through a room with a lot of plants that do not see invso. The next room will have 3 haunted ghosts infront of you and 1 to the left. The middle one closest to left wall is the PH for Dreameater. I moloed the camp at 90 with 5k aa and 7.5kac. Camp is easy to pacify and solo pull. 22 min respawn. Dreameater spawned 3/5 times i was there, drops a attunable ring, spells, and on the 3rd kill dropped his aug for. Cant remember name, ill edit it in later. Its 35ac 60hp and 5 heroic sta.

Another easy one is in Library. Bring a dps friend to clear to room or a bot. You need to head east till you go all the way upstairs, then head due west to a circle room with a spiral stair case. The 2nd floor there will be 6 npcs reading books around the room. All 6 are PH for the named, which i believe his name was Cerro. Yellow con at 90, spent most of his time casting, but hit for 10kish. There are 2 roamers on the stairs and 2 arcane wizard roamers on the floor that walk around in circles. I started on the spiral stairs between 2nd and 3rd floor, then cleared down into the room and cleared in a circle then waited on respawns. Spawn reminded me of camping Tarnished stone in Brells Temple. Named spawned 4/6 respawns, dropped hsi 36ac 80hp 6heroic agi aug on 4th kill.

Another one i snagged was a 7 heroic sta 34ac aug in the new Plane of Fear. Camp on the wall in the NorthEast, clear all "Enraged Scarylings" as they are the PH. Aug dropped 1st kill so dunno rarity. Think i got lucky.

Another easy one is in Alkabors Nightmare. Head to the south east of first island to the druid ruins. There is a runnyeye thief that spawns there every 16 minutes. He is the only PH for Mooto who drops a 37ac 90hp +7heroic Agi aug. I'd snag all the quests u can and do them while keeping his 1 PH down. Also it seems his aug is pretty common drop from the progression mission, so might wanna try getting it there first.
Anyone else camp the new augs yet?

Shimmering Heart of the Phantasm

This one drops in Morell's Castle from the Forest Phantasm. He spawns from one of the Night Terror mobs near where the stream begins. Near the wisps (which see invis!) and the Centaurs.

Doable with a group that can hang in T4. He has a Fear proc, which did not land on me (Fearless AA), but did on my groupmates.

This drops from Maggotscalp in Erudin Burning, the mob has a couple spawnpoints that I have seen, and probably a couple others. The PH is A Skeleton Sentry

The first spawn point is next to armory building. Come into the zone, and through the tunnel to get to the undead area. Go down the stairs and the armory is to your left. The mob spawns between the armory and the wall. Safe spot is in the corner opposite where the PH is, where the wall meets the wall to the stairs.

The second one is further south. Continue south past the Armory and down the stairs. PH is near the bottom of the stairs. Can camp near library, or pull back to armory if desired.

Casts Burning Paper Cuts, but I resist it most of the time at 90. Can box it with 90 PAL, 83 ENC, 83 T5 Healer Merc, T5 Rogue Merc pretty easily.

Mob spawned 8 times in at least that many hours of camping, and dropped aug twice.
