I looked at various different posts on Allakhazam in the zones area under the Secrets of Faydwer expansion and in the quests area for them (alot of good info there, not 100% walkthroughs but most tasks are straightforward), I also searched for items on lucy that were listed as needed from certain tasks here. And finally read this website for info http://home.comcast.net/~mathadon/Guides/SoF/index.html . Also thanks Ylaa, Drayron, Riou, Rihard, Ende, Peaky, Thancra, and Caladel for the contributions.



Humming Finsternacht Runes: (Level 76 spells) These spells are only dropped in SoF raids from the tasks "The Fanged Moon", "Crazok's Throne", "Big Bynn's Return", "Deepscar's Den", and the instanced version of The Steam Factory. But these runes can be created if you have a "Glowing Prismatic Rune" from MMM or Crystallos raids by buying a container from the turnin guy (something the gold is his name in Dragonscale Hills on the way to Crystallos) and combining it by itself to turn it in a "Whirring Clockwork Rune" then combining the Whirring rune by itself.

2- Solumn Force Rk. 3 Lvl 76
3- Atonement Rk. 3 Lvl 76
4- Benediction Rk. 3 Lvl 76

Whirring Clockwork Runes: (Level 77 and 78 spells) These spells are only dropped in SoF raids from the tasks "The Fanged Moon", "Crazok's Throne", "Big Bynn's Return", "Deepscar's Den", "The Soulbleeder Must Bleed", "Ralkor's Crystals", and the instanced versions of The Steam Factory and Meldrath's Majestic Mansion. * Every Rose Has its Thorns (you can get this task from a mysterious stranger in Hills of Shade after completing both the Valthon and Blackwater tasks). This is a solo task but requires a raid to kill the mob "Scorn" in Hills of Shade. You buy a "Thorned Rose" from him and turn it in to Scorn to make her come live. She drops 12 pieces required to complete the task, and they are NOT prelootable (aka you must have the task and be at that point to get credit).

Bought with plat and Ally faction to the Ladies of The Light elite supplier in Dragonscale Hills. You also need these tasks completed.

I disagree. Base functional spells available to all, fairly deep penetration of the spell system provided based on time/effort invested, even full ranks of some marquee spells available to dedicated non-raiders.

my dislike has to do with the faction, all of what you are saying is true brohg.

I've had a fine time doing every faction except Brownie Rebellion.

Annoying as hell. Won't bother with most of this, too much work for minor upgrades to mediocre spells.

I'm in the process of finishing up Akanon Strike Force and waiting for Scorn kill to be done with Valor, then will have completed em all. 6 Months later!

The Whirring and Glowing are correct, Humming should be too.

Sucks they only put the Humming ones on the lower tier raids that are only worth doing when you're either flagging or have nothing else better to do. I've looted a full set of Whirring and Glowing, but not a single Humming ;p

I haven't been paying attention to rune drops in awhile. Do Humming drop from Soulbleeder and Ralkor's Crystals raids?

They only drop from T2 raids, like Steam Factory, Overseer, Big Bynn, and the first two Bloodmoon raids. Once you've progressed past those, the only time you have for them is when everything is locked out, which is basically only the time between killing Meldrath and being able to raid Crystallos, and after you've beaten Crystallos. They also don't always drop 100% of the time since those raids can also drop Whirring runes (which you'lll get plenty of in MMM).

We did steam factory once after we were locked out of everything, waste of time otherwise, thats retarded on the runes wow.

Burst of Morrow:
Petals of Erollisi are NOT prelootable.
Ally faction with Camp Valor is NOT required. I am currently amiably and have my Burst of Morrow rk3 after completing Valthon + Save the Child quest lines.

Thank you for adding this Joks, for awhile I'd say just about everyone was already ally to Camp Valor before they bought this spell so it was just assumed it was required. With new spells coming out next month, will probably do another post then, i can't wait!

This was the worst spell system ever. There is no chance I will have any of my rank 3 spells before they are completely antiquated by the next level increase. So when I do get to raiding SoF, there will be no need to look at them at all.

You have a point. But gosh, this system is much harder to complete than going on a raid and looting an ancient spell.

Because even with a raiding guild, unless you are cutting edge the rank three versions of these spells are useless. With the ancient spells, I didn't get them when they were cutting edge. But when I did get them, I still had a use for them, most did BECAUSE it was a unique spell. Those runes didn't go to rott until everyone had their ancient spells.

With these, most will go to rott unless the next expansions rk2's are insanely hard to get.

All rank 1 should be made available to everybody, not just some of Rank 1. Tiered system is better than before but I seriously dislike spread spells out on so many factions makes a lot of boring grind.

Supposedly there will be less of the grind factioning in the next expansion, but until the launch I consider it only rumor.

And yea, I would agree more with this system if they did two things. First, if all the classes capable of getting rk 1 or 2 of a spell were also able to get rank 3. The Cure Corruption spell rk3 that we have no access to irritates me a bit. And if the factions were a few less. Grinding 5 lvls and then learning that I have to grind a ton more to get faction 6 different ways is annoying.

But, I guess they were trying to make sure people had something to do for a full year, so we'll see what happens this time through.

Do you raid? It looks to me like you didn't raid SoF, so why would you expect to have high rank SoF spells?

Me? raid? never. lol

Naw, just far enough behind in content that we couldn't get into SoF before this expansion is all. My guild prides itself on doing every expansion, not skipping anything. We generally do them in order, but we usually work on two at a time. We are through Solt 5, just finished FC/AG farming, and are starting on SoF next month while trying to complete Solteris. We also farm more than alot of guilds, so we stayed in FC/AG longer than some.

We were going to start SoF a few months back, but we had to gear up a fairly big number of new folks to be able to handle our events, so we chose to slow down a little and get them geared (critical classes like clerics). Its just a shame because most of the rank 3 spells won't mean much to us, since all of our major lines are being upgraded.

Heres hoping for a more productive year this time. It just feels like SoE really expects more of the hardcore types in order to progress all the way through. I mean, we raid 4 nights a week 4 hours each night, we upped it from 3 nights about a year ago, and I'm still being told that we don't raid enough to really catch up. Harder to pull off as the population dwindles down.

Its a good question Big. I know that a few months ago, maybe 4-5, a fairly hardcore raiding guild finally beat SoF. They weren't first, but I THINK they were close. So for at least 4-5 months they have been putting down the top end events in the game. I don't know their success rate though.

I know on Tunare, my server, there are a few good guilds, but no one to my knowledge has beaten SoF. We have Talisman, who was experiencing problems with membership, not sure how they are riding it out. We have Public raiding with Infinit at its core, we have Gospel of the Dawn, I think they are on a vastly different time zone from mine. We have Grey Horizon who has beaten Solteris, not sure on progression into SoF. Then there is ours, Gale of Destruction, still working on Solteris and just about to jump into SoF. I'm pretty sure that is the order of power for guilds. Public has a wide variety of guilds that raid with it, so a few members from odd guilds really stand out, but I consider it mostly Infinit.

So at least on my server, most guilds are still raiding "older" content, I don't think any of them have really stopped farming Solteris just yet.

I don't get bored, I get dkp! Seriously, though, Jace has been farming all of SoF more than I have. My guild didn't take down Kerafyrm the Awakened before SoD release, so we always had something out there in front of us.
