Remove the ## caps from our defensive. Make it just XX% mitigation for XX time. Remove the "up to" part.
Do something offensively. Holyforge is a Joke. Add a Short term DPS disc or something. Something that like doubles our dps or somethin *shrugs*

Next incarnation of Brells to be something more than just HP, I would prefer if they could put our Aura into the spell. Failing that something that fits into our 'defensive' Knight role, % Shielding, or + Avoidance wouldnt have to be much and could be tiered.

Make any buffs that we inherit from our Cleric Mother last as long as their version.

Continue the 'Crush line'

Our innate proc, up the PPM, up the Damage per Rank and make it not fire on Undead Content (Partial fix for our dps issue)

Spells:
Upgrade Crush lines
New line lance of XXX same times as crush 25% damage increase no aggro override. (for dps when not tankig crushes are aggro for unstunnable content)
Upgrade Burst and Aurora not sure if they are concidered standard yet.
Standard upgrades of old lines.

Discs:
Holy furor-upgrade to Holy Forge increase the crippling blow rate drop the slay mod plus add a 10% mod to damage maybe 15 since champ already gives 10%.
Modify our defensive to 25% uncapped not as good as warrior defensive but won't fade after only a couple hits in real content.
Holy Avenger- Disc to up Nuke and Heal crit rate by 15% lasts 30 seconds reuse 30 minutes.

Since you said on the other thread don't mess with coding then if they can't take out the "up to" part of absorbing dmg from our defensive disc then put an insanely high number like 10 million(same idea as sanctification coding with the 10000% chance to resist spell). For holyforge make it not that cleave 5 200% crap, break it out to at least cleave 8 (i doubt it will get upgraded so not gonna bother to ask for something unreasonable, yes knytul I give up as usual).

Basic Upgrades:The usual, i believe most our spell set need revamped, so see next section.


Upgraded But Revamped:
-Huge boost to our heal ,including HoTs.(if we are to self heal better than a sk)
-1 overcap Stun (lvl 93 if level are boosted to 90, 88 if not)
- Return of the pacify line.
- restore silent s piety DI portion.
-revamp brell to do more than some hp, with nowadays hp inflation, it just became at best a drop in the bucket.
-undead proc (attach it to live proc, add like 600 dmg).
- change tunare (again), make the hot part only last one tick, the 2nd tick is almost always wasted, and add the missing tick to the direct heal portion.
-Rework holyforge to actually do something
-Remove or atleast upgrade the amount of damage on our vie disc.
- Make sanctification resist unresistable spell.



New Ideas:
-A BIG LIVE DD.
-Give us one burn disc
-A dmg on demand disc (like withstand, but offensive)
-An offensive only pet (ie can be controled , but cant take aggro)
-Swarm pet.
-Delayed Heals (promised line)

Spells:

1.) Flash of Light 2.0 - Blindness (3-6 ticks) plus -100 atk debuff. Current blind has -5 and abilities such as monk's Eye Gouge are beyond -100 already. Fits with our defensive theme.

2.) Hammer of Wrath/Striking upgrade - Summon an item that, when clicked, summons a hammer similar to the weapons used in the MPG Weaponry trial (i.e. they decay with use). Idea is to give a hammer with no/minimal stats, but HUGE (double? the previous expansions max ratio knight weapon) damage to give us our "burst" dps for a period of time defined by the combination of duration of decay of the hammer and the recast of the clicky (NOT the spell - no recast on the spell).

3.) Valor of Marr 2.0 - 50% self-only haste plus Silent Piety rolled into one buff. Make this a quested spell, with lore involvement; no generic quests/arcs that everyone has to do to get a spell, please.

4.) Thunder of Karana 2.0 - Return the spell to it's former glory and give us a one tick silence. With the implementation of the debuff blockers used to lock out chaining certain spells (like Mana Burn line, for example), they could prevent chain silencing of mobs. Perhaps my memory is hazy, but I believe that is why the spell was nerfed once upon a time.

5.) New Aura - Grant 5% heal boost, as current, plus provide +50 resist overcap to all (except corruption; or, make the overcap +25 to all and include corruption) to group members in range. Implement this as a level 75ish aura quest. We have the tools to have bonus resistance (yes, I realize not in the form of overcap) for ourselves via Silent Piety, why not share our wisdom with those in our aura's range.

6.) New Aura - Allies in range of the aura that are hit have a decent chance of proccing a 2 tick HoT on themselves (same heal per tick as the THEN-current Ward of Tunare, does not stack with the same - thus not increasing the self-heal ability of the paladin).

7.) Reverse Vow of Valor - dps drops and heals increase in potency significantly.

8.) Crush of the Crusader - Upgrade to the usable Crush (Lesson-timer) in damage, combined with the upgrade to the Mark of the Crusader line. Both tools were seemingly implemented as patchwork ways to improve our dps; please combine them into one spell. I can't think of a reason for the need, but perhaps still leave in the separate spells in case people are actually using Mark w/o using Crush.

9.) Self-only Pure Spirit (i.e. detrimental only dispel).

10.) HoT line now comes with cure component - add 2? psn/dis/curse counters per tick cured.

Disciplines:

1.) Group Sanctification: 6? ticks of spell immunity to all group members.

2.) New Holyforge: increase both aspects by at least fourfold. At level 55, the 200% modifier was four times greater than the Cleave 1 available to characters of approximately that level. Even if you bump the comparison up to Cleave 2, you're looking at a 2.5 greater rate of criticals. Cleave 6 is reasonably available to groupers and has a 240% modifier; give us a 600-1200% modifier on the discipline. Yes, it's high - someone determine an appropriate number, I'm just going on the basest of comparisons for the purposes of this post.

3.) Battlefield Meditation - Drain 100 points endurance per tick to generate 100 (50?) mana per tick regeneration. If necessary, apply the Second Wind model to this discipline; make the benefit contingent upon not performing any aggressive action and/or casting any spells.

Lots of good ideas so far.

Add a 1 second stun component to our weapon proc spell line (similar to the weapon proc from Symbol of the Planemasters).

Spells

1. Much bigger heals
2. Faster and bigger group cure version of crusader's purity line.
3. Cure detrimental
4. Pacify upgrade
5. HoT that is actually worth casting which means it needs to heal much that what it is doing now. Alternatively have it significantly more mana efficient than direct heal so there is actually a reason casting it.
6. Add bane component to the fury line and also bring the fury line's proc live damage back inline with ranger's one as well. We use to be on the same damage until that particularly expansion with the stupid idea that only limited number of spells for each class and ours got axed.
7. Upgraded longer duration root with chromatic resist
8. Merge aura with Brell and make it 8 to 10 percent more healed or something like that. This saves me from casting it every half hour and less spell meming to do.

Disc

1. Burst dps, 4 ticks of quad melee damage.

Discs:

-- New Deflection - extend one tick, can even just make that an AA rather than a new disc if its easier.

Spells:

-- New Crush Line: Love it right now, standard upgrades in damage and agro. Perhaps a higher tweak in damage.

-- New Cure Corruption: I'm not sure why it was decided that we can only cure corruption off others with 17% of the effectiveness of clerics. They can cure 36 counters of corruption at their highest, we can cure 6. Need a big upgrade.

-- Self Haste, 50%.



DISCS:

-- New Withstand - This is a good basic idea that was used badly. Two different ideas here. Either raise the damage cap by alot, like into the 2.5-3k range and keep the two hit limit, or raise the damage cap a bit, like 1700ish and remove the hit limit. With both of those limiting factors involved, I barely remember to bother hitting it.

-- New Armor disc - remove the damage cap entirely, up the mitigation slightly. 25-30% mitigation isn't asking too much and is not game breaking.

SPELLS:

-- New Brells line: The HP difference between latest Brells Rk3 vs Spiritual Verve Rk. III is 301HP. In a game of 50k+ tanks and 40k+ casters, 301HP is pretty weak. Add a minor defensive bonus. Overcap avoidance of like 10, dodge base increase of 3%, or the 5% heal mod from our aura would be great.

-- New Eulogy: Make this a regular nuke, with Undead Bane damage. The trigger would only work on Undead.

-- New Devout Fury: Increase the damage substantially, maybe tweak it so it hits harder with a 2h weapon.

-- New Wave of Remitment: Was a good first step in lowering the recast, but the amount healed needs a large boost. 2686 base heal in the already mentioned large HP pools of even group geared folks is not keeping pace. Raise the mana cost to match.

-- New Charge for Honor: Make this much much harder to resist and faster to cast; a bump up in the vie effect would be welcome as well since the mob DPS has increased greatly and it doesn't last more than a single hit. Even a lesser percent absorbed with a increase in total absorbed would be nice.

-- New HoT: Remove the recast delay, up ours to be at least a little more powerful than the potions sold on vendors.

-- New Silent Piety: RETURN THE DI COMPONENT, give it like a 10 min recast to make in less abusable, make it a 15% chance to turn away detrimental spells.



Discs:

-- Battlefield encouragement: Allows you to transfer endurance from your own pool to your target, at a 1:2 cost. Either instant with a 5 min timer or a HoT-like effect for a duration. This would give raid paladins a useful role to assist other tanks or DPS classes without being overpowered to do either role.

Spells:

-- Group HoT

-- Targetable short-duration mitigation buff, same stack as the SK voice of Thule line, lasts 10 minutes and refreshes every 5 minutes.

Spells:

1. Fast cast(instacast being the dream scenario :mrgreen:) dps nuke(s) that can be chain casted for decent burst damage.

2. Bigger burst heals. Yeah it's just wrong that a paladin's ability to selfheal isn't more potent than an sk's.

3. Ae aggro. Ae stun or what have you. Point blank preferably.

Discs:

1. Short duration, long recast, high increase to melee dps. Make it crits or cripples or such that don't affect slay if that is such a big issue.

Spells:
1. Knight contemplation: Allow you to mez for 1-2 ticks 1 mob, only usable if you out of combat.
2. Mix undead and live proc DD lines, same dmg to both but add a chance to proc our nuke undead recourse on undeads only.
3. Faith aura: low duration (40 - 60 secs) high recast (2 to 3) mins group spell, MGBable, add attack and %heal modifier to the group.
4. Upgrade of the HoT line, by a lot. In his current state it is just too much mana for the amount of heal done.
5. Love step! Ok name sucks but if SKs can hate step... :lol:
6. A pet line, pretty much like cleric hammers.


Disc:
1. Sanctify area: Trap kind, add reverse dmg shield to the mob that triggered the trap, virus spell so it have a chance of extend.
2. Something for burn endurance on dps form, anything will work really.
3. Upgrade to wriststand.
4. Remove dmg limit on the defensive disc, on the current state is a miracle if hold more than 20 seconds versus a real dmg dealer.

Crusade
Drain 300 mana + 300 endurance a tick.
Level: 80
Disc timer: Holyforge (Timer ID 1)
1x Swarm pet hitting for 500 (has stats based upon caster's; eg. hp, ac, resists), lasting 3 minutes spawns every 18 seconds (they would all despawn when buff fades).
Goal would be to add progressive melee damage starting low and ending up high, balancing to +1500 dps boost overall.
If any swarm pets die prior to buff fade, their owner takes 4.5k damage.
On fade, each remaining swarm pet will heal everybody except caster within 100' range for +3k hp & 1.5k mana/endurance.
Usable once every 72 minutes base, add accompanying AAs based upon Act of Valor line to lower recast timer by 12 minutes per rank, 3 ranks available.

Kind of a loopy idea that just popped into my head, apologies if this is one of those vampire ideas. (Vampire idea: Seemed so powerful in the dark of night when it woke me from my sleep, but implodes with stupidity when faced with the light of day)

AA, useable maybe once day? every 12 hours? Some long time, but not so long as to make it useless. Lasting? 3 minutes to 15 minutes?

Shroud of the dark side. (Use the force Luke!): Once daily, converts the Paladin to his dark side, and shrouds him to a SK like being, with accompanying dps type abilities etc. Would work somewhat like shrouds did, and require some set of accompanying AAs/abilities just like shrouds did.

Similar ability would be available to our foil (Sks) shroud of the Light: Providing sks with abilities similar to a Paladins, same time frame etc.

Could expand this to other crossover type classes. Rogue becomes a Warrior and vice versa. Druid becomes wizard? I dunno. Haven't worked out what that would look like.

- Devout Cleansing: LARGE Upgrade to this. Remove the 5 sec fizzle time, and the 30 second recast. This spell is NOT that good to have so many drawbacks.
- Devout Fury: LARGE Upgrade. Add Undead Bane damage plz.
- Eulogy: Make this a regular nuke, with Undead Bane damage. The trigger would only work on Undead.
- Mark of the Crusader: Too "spammy" - Double the Max Hit, double the recast time. Add auto-cast "Mark of the Pious" (spell gems are getting tight, and with auto-cast the base spell won't bounce off Cleric Marks)
-Sworn Keeper: AC has severly fallen behind the cleric version. Even the basic Cleric AC buff now overwrites this. Something inherantly wrong here.
- Withstand: Too "spammy". Double up everything - Max Hit, Endurance, Dmg Absorbed, and Recast.


- Version of Cleric Pet Hammer (Soulfire Weapon Graphic!)
- Group HoT
- AE Stun
- Lance (DD nuke/smite. I like the name...Lance of XXX)
- Burst DPS Disc....anything.
- Holy Water Mist - Viral Hate spell spreading to all enemies in a short radius for a period. Can't have AE hate/stun but i'm never going to give up on trying to get this very basic yet needed tanking tool.

- Upgrade to withstand.

- Mix undead and live proc DD lines, same dmg to both but add a chance to proc our nuke undead recourse on undeads only.
- Remove dmg limit on the defensive disc, on the current state is a miracle if hold more than 20 seconds versus a real dmg dealer.


- Knight contemplation: Allow you to mez for 1-2 ticks 1 mob, only usable if you out of combat.
- Faith aura: low duration (40 - 60 secs) high recast (2 to 3) mins group spell, MGBable, add attack and %heal modifier to the group.
- Love step! Ok name sucks but if SKs can hate step... :lol:
- A pet line, pretty much like cleric hammers.
- Sanctify area: Trap kind, add reverse dmg shield to the mob that triggered the trap, virus spell so it have a chance of extend.
- Something for burn endurance on dps form, anything will work really.

I'll start by saying lots of great ideas, but no one is backing anyone else. So I will do a little cut and pastage;

- Armor of Endless Honor: Remove the damage cap, and we'll never need another upgrade - I dont see damage cap coming off and timer, so take off one or the other.
-Aurora of Dawnlight: Make it hit pets (rank them below all players though), make our healing aa's effect it (even if it is only a % of the heal aa or to a max cap.
- Brell's Loamy Ward: add 5% heal mod from Blessed Aura (No need to upgrade the 5%), Maybe have it give a shielding over cap or 2-5%?
- Charge for Honor: Reduce cast time. Sometime extremely difficult to cast.

- Swarm pets, I thought a cool theme would be, recall the fallen, summons fallen ancestors back to battle, sort of like LOTR, Return of the King when Arathorn turns up with his army of the dead. Too graphic intensive would be to tailor it to your race (I'm a dwarf, I want dwarf ghosts dern it!), but bog standard humans would do, DPS upgrade without the fear of increase of slays, and of course SK's would get their own evil version.
-A duplicate of the Ranger cloak of feathers spell, but without the ds. There are still raids where, damaging the mobs, even with a small ds, is a wipe. So tanks have to drop COF, and also loose the AC. Gap in the market I think. In group I could use it, if there was no ranger, I'd take the ranger version over mine if we did have one.

- Brell's Loamy Ward: add AC to it. Put it on the same ac line as SK's 'challenge for' line for balance reasons. Brells needs something other than pure HP with all the HP inflation around an extra 900hp means nothing.

- Armor of Endless Honor: Remove the damage cap. No need for a damage cap at this point.

- Preservation of Tunare - This is our 'tanking' spell, how about adding a hate modifier to it. We have been losing ground steadily in the hate
department and our lack of AE hate and the fact that SK AE hate spells are the same hate value as single target spells (dumb) means Paladins
tanking opportunities are less and less. Cap it at 12% hate modifier at rank 3. I'd also like to see the direct healing increased again for some reason the SK version of this spell absorbs much more damage for the same cost.

- Devout Fury: Needs a much greater dd amount to increase our pitiful dps. Add in undead bonus and a healing recourse to boost our passive healing abilities.

- Charge for Honor: Add a set hate amount meaning resists will still generate a certain amount of hate similar to what was done with warrior hate over time way back when.

- Crush of Compunction - like to see the hate increase to match our best single target hate spell

- Devout Force/Force of the Crying Seas - Like to see one of these become a pure hate spell with recast timer that matches the SK line of single target hate in exchange for dropping the stun component. I'd like to see single target hate be boosted so its greater than the best AE spells since the single target spells need to pull mobs off the people who are using AE hate (so it can be done as a team rather than SK's having the largest AE and single target by a wide margin).

Shining Light - Needs a very large boost

Withstand - I like the idea, the implementation is poor. I'd like something less spammy, maybe increase size/cost or something along those lines.



- Self Heal - I'd like to see us finally get a large self heal spell. Shadowknights have a huge amount of self passive healing, I'd think a class which has more affinity to healing should have a more simplified way to heal ourselves when tanking than having to use rapid target changes. Structure it similar to our burst line except minus the 6 second gem lockout for the fact its self only and call it a day.

- Holy Water Mist - Viral Hate spell spreading to all enemies in a short radius for a period. Can't have AE hate/stun but i'm never going to give up on trying to get this very basic yet needed tanking tool.

- A TRUE burst DPS disc - Our dps is pitiful, our ability to boost our DPS over a short period is in even worse shape. Help.

Upgrades:

-Deflection discipline faster recast and longer duration

Restoration of former spell line:
-Pacify . Monks, clerics, enchanters, bards, shadowknights, rangers can all single pull mobs with a pacify line spell or pacify type disc or aa. If the ability to single pull a mob is not overpowered for those classes than its not over powered for us. How is it at level 49 we knew how to pacify mobs but since then we have forgotten how to pacify mobs.

-death save self only.

New:
-group v2 Heal over time. Paladins are hybrids of the cleric and warrior class. Why is it after 85 levels we still do not know how to group hot. Surely after 85 and 90 levels we must have discovered how to cast a heal over time that can heal our whole group.

1. 96% rez so I don't have to summon a merc to do it anymore since the 90%s were given out already
2. Increase dmg on our undead nukes to 2x what they are now as I see that Slay Undead nerf is imminent either way



1. Make any buffs that we inherit from our Cleric Mother last as long as their version.
2. Holy furor-upgrade to Holy Forge increase the crippling blow rate drop the slay mod plus add a 10% mod to damage maybe 15 since champ already gives 10%.
3. Modify our defensive to 25% uncapped not as good as warrior defensive but won't fade after only a couple hits in real content.
4. Huge boost to our heal ,including HoTs.(if we are to self heal better than a sk) I would like to see our Light line replace the burst line completely, and the spell-gem penalty removed. As well as the penalty removed from casting our HoTs.Make sanctification resist unresistable spell.
5. HoT line now comes with cure component - add 2? psn/dis/curse counters per tick cured.
6. Faster and bigger group cure version of crusader's purity line. Make it a group version with standard upgrades or add a cure detrimental line to it and keep it single target.
7. for the Brell's line, I would like to see spell shielding of 1-3% added to it's normal upgrades. Each % reflects the rank of the spell.




1. A yaulp upgrade that doesn't stack with our Ward of Tunare line as they do not already. While active it would give atk, ac, procmod, and some mana regen like the cleric line but make the haste component a 10% overhaste.
2. A AoE stun with 0 dmg/kb and a hate override. Subject to disuss if it should be PB AoE, directional, or targetted. I would see this put on the same timer as our saltwater stuns.
3. Holy Wrath Disc = copy of Mighty Strikes
4. Holy Vengeance Disc = 1 min disc with a 5 or 10 min reset timer. While active any riposte becomes a cripple.

Basic Upgrades:
Crush lines (add in one for the final stun)
Withstand
Stuns
Aurora line
Divine Favor (hey, might be fun)


Upgraded But Revamped:
No hit limit mark of the crusader
Armor of (whatever) max damage
Silent Piety, higher %, double the base duration again
Brells with Aura tied in to the effect
Undead Nuke (remove the hit limit from recourse)
Verb For Honor line (remove max damage from recourse, lower the duration to 12 seconds or add a hit limit)
Detrimental only dispell
Longer Duration Sanctification, at least 1 minute


New Ideas:
Vow of Valor type deal (long duration, long recast (5+minutes) so it can't be abused, can't be used with forceful)
All heals eat less mana if they do not heal for full
