Old Account Help

A good friend of mine is wanting to reactivate an account that he stopped playing back in early 2004. At the time I believe he let a guildie keep the account active and now my friend does not remember the password (knows the user name however). If any of you have dealt with how to "reclaim" an account would you share what this is going to require? I read somewhere he will need the last 4 digits of the card he used to start the account when he calls SOE support but is there anything else? Also he no longer uses the same bank but can he just walk in and ask for the old information thru the bank or will that be a huge ordeal also? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

The guildie that was using the account he has since lost contact with, and no longer plays eq either. The cds are gone as well Im sure. There were like 10 of us friends that played together and cds got borrowed or put away etc. There would be no way to know whos cd is whos even if we did find them.

Seiously, just go buy another setup and start over. I was gifted an account years ago that I have kept active and leveled toons up on, and as Ughbash stated, I'd be pretty upset to have the account yanked out from under me at this point.

I'm sorry I should have clarified. By "keeping the account active" I meant that the character was actually used. To my knowledge the guildie made no expansion purchases, subsciption purchases, made no real investment in the character as far as levels or aa's. He literally used the character for a buff bot until the subsciption ran out.. I play on the same server (the rathe) so know for sure the guidlie has long since stopped playing. Noone is yanking anything out from under anyone. But the account has fallen to the wayside. I was only hoping that someone who has dealt with this before could give me some guidance is to what to expect as far as documentation, or if my friend even has any hope of getting the account back. I believe my friend only wants the old account for the acrued vet rewards on it, which would be like 5 years worth.
