Crits on Ancestral Intervention

Didn't see another thread on this ....

Has anyone seen crits on AI (or the Druid varation) since the last patch?? Was a quick chat in Shaman channel last night that a small sample agreed that we didn't recall seeing crits occuring lately.. Can someone confirm? Bug? Nerf?

I've seen crits, though not as regularly as before the patch and the patch to fix the patch.

it's not only ancestral intervention for me, it's for all my heals. I got 14 heals without crit last night while testing type 3 augment and statiscally this is close to 0% chance to occure. I think it was Chees that reported 36 heals without crit but I should let him confirm it.

In a group yesterday (was on my SK) our cleric wasnt getting many crits at all (OT = our rogue was getting crap for backstabs too ...) - however my group taps were critting a good bit. Last night raiding with my shammy I noticed a lack of big heals from AI that Im used to seeing - but it could just be in my head. The rest of the time I was just boxing and usually let lass+HoT+lifetap innates keep my SK up.

EDIT - and JBoots seem slower .... =D

Tons of crits last night in Solteris, both on AI and regular heals. I guess it was just RNG playing with me.

I haven't seen a crit on AI in a good while now. I submitted a bug report but I don't know how often those get reviewed. I did a test the other night to try to reconfirm - went 29 straight casts of AI with zero crits. Other heals, nukes, dots, etc. seem to be working fine. This was with AI rank 2, healing gift maxxed, tier 4 DoN progression done for additional crits on my shambot.

Several casts of AI on my shaman too, with no crits. I have an audio trigger on my crit heals, so I notice. :P

After checking my Log, I've changed my opinion. No crits at all

Ok ... checked my logs and saw that after April 30, I have not seen a single crit of Ancestral Intervention. Before that date, they seem to be fine. Gemmi's Rk. II and Ahnkaul's Rk. III were critting left and right, though, along with my DoN ring.

AI rank 2, since the patch, zero crits.

Still used quite frequently, though. (I live in dangerous groups with reckless people)

Anyone heard anything about this ? I kinda got used to relying on the crits to healing the more heavy tanks in my groups... I miss the crits on AI alot!

I'm not frequenting the boards at SoE much (not much being never in fact); so I have no clue really whether there's anything going on overthere about this - if not, perhaps we should start a thread or something there?

Super - let's hope it gets fixed...

Not be too demanding and all; but any chance you have a link to the thread there? As I said, those boards there scare me :)

I don't blame you. The noise to knowledge ratio over there is seriously jacked.

The phrase you're looking for is "signal to noise ratio", it's an electrical engineering analogy.

No, I was looking for "noise to knowledge." There are some very well-informed people who post on the EQ Live boards, but there are also a bunch of morons who spout nothing but crap and insults.

Pretty sure its "signal to noise ratio" :P

If you're talking about electrical engineering, sure. I was not. There is noise and there is knowledge on the EQLive boards, and that is what I was referring to.

Ignorance opposes knowledge, noise opposes signal. Your phrase is either a mixed metaphor or a non sequitur. You can pick for yourself, but I prefer the "oops, I didn't know" analysis to "no really, drugs are good."

I have no knowledge of electrical engineering. I wrote what I meant to write. I am sorry you find it inadequate.

Wow alot of noise in this thread suddenly *grin*

I appreciate your Tongue-in-cheek reference, "Noise to Knowledge ratio"... it's called playing with the language; no need to be anal about it...

and even more important; thanks for the direct deep-link!

That's just it, there were no proverbial tongues in cheeks. No playing with language. He's said so explicitly, twice! :o

Sorry to continue this derail, but it's starting to drive me a bit nuts. "Noise" is not just used for electrical engineering http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/noise. Brog's and Waring's singular definition of "noise" isn't until the 5th entry, the first, 4th, 7th, 10th or 11th entry would work perfectly fine in the phrase "noise to knowledge." However, the 6th entry is exactly what Tordail was talking about, even including an example that is an extrapolation of his three word phrase. Living languages are neat.

Now that I think about it a bit more, I'm convinced Brog is just padding his post count to get another gold bar, hehe.

So I was in Hills of Shade and the pull went bad and I had two golems, got one locked down with VP and got the other rooted while it beat me down to half health. I backed up, clicked epic, and slowed one mob; root broke and it came to whack on me again. That's when the weird thing happened.

I got it rooted again and backed up, and it put a series of hits on me and knocked me unconscious. Somehow it did that as I was moving out of melee range, and so I was bleeding on the ground but far enough away that it couldn't reach me for the last blow that would have finished off this story.

The healing from the epic got me back to positive hp, I was back on my feet, and it hit me with its range attack and knocked me out again. Another epic tick, and I was back on my feet once more. I was immediately hit by the range attack from the other golem, the one held by VP a little ways away; that put me back on the ground again. Another tick of the epic and I was up, and clicked Ancestral Intervention. The heal landed for about 8200 hp, I was at half health, and I said, "Where's the damn crit heal on AI !?!?"

I was ready to make a go of it at that point, until root broke again, and it seemed like maybe discretion was the better part of valor. So I hit the FD ring: "This time I'm really dead, boys," I said, and apparently they believed me, because in a little while they wandered away.

At any rate, a crit on AI would have taken me from less than 100 hp to full health -- a little over 16k, with the buffs I had -- if there still were crits on AI ...

Nodyin posted on EQLive that there was a bug realated to this which was "owned" (presumably, that means assigned) to their developers. He didn't say when it would be fixed. It could be in the next patch, but thats just a guess.

: It won't be fixed in the next patch and unfortunately I don't have an update on that at this time.
