Gettting quite a few augs lately that fit nicely into the visible group armor, raising its purity. Getting tempted to use power sources because of this. Are there new ones available or are group players still using the TBS ones? That is the last ones I recall being available anyway? Is there any other purpose to purity on group armor that I am overlooking, or it is just the power source?

Purity is just for power sources. There are no new types. They can be made by tradeskills now if that's more attractive than spending 10 Orux.

Nah, the orux is fine. I have no other use for it now. I assume though that the tradeskill ones are no better than the TBS ones.

I believe the pure energieans (raid level) are somewhere around 1k per powersource combine. The group translucent ones are much lower (about 600 pp per combine, but you get 2 sealed sources per combine). At least according to the wizard CL in my guild who has been working on skilling up his pottery to make these.

Failure rate is high.

Hmm. I'm starting to smell a real missed opportunity on my part. I had completely stopped paying attention to the powersources, and didn't even realize there were player mades till this post.

There are a couple of medium to big guilds on my server doing open raids on some stuff. Might have to do my homework a bit and see if there is some value in getting this 'raid unlocked' business done.

Sadly I am locked out of a majority of boards though.. Can't access many other than Sams, and apparently Sony. hehe

Made 2 runs of translucent til today. First run without all pottery aas max came arount 1200pp per orb (skill 300+ 12% from trophy). Second run with pottery aas maxed, but trophy is not yet max, I came around 1000pp per orb. That was including fails and buying some stuff in bazaar. Failrate is high because you need 2 high trivial combines to produce them. Nevertheless I feel they are well worth it.

Edit: seeing Brohgs calculation on the pure. The translucent should be below half of the pure as the final combine yields 2 and the vendor stuff costs a little less. So either I got 2 times bad luck from the RNG, or I paid far too much for the ingredients I got from the bazaar. The Dust for the pure drops in current content, the stuff for the translucent doesn't. I have no problem spending some time to do some combines. But going "of the road" to farm stuff for tradeskilling is nothing I do consider. I prefer to just get this stuff from bazaar if I can afford them.

Haven't checked recently, but last time I checked in bazaar on AB orum has been around 90pp. But .. those from Katta-vendors don't stack and the sealed ones in bazaar are aviable around 1,8k per orb. So price per orb is around the same getting orum in bazaar and travel to katta for the non-stacking PS, or buying the stackable orbs directly in the bazaar.
I think one who set up a treader to sell the orbs would check also the orum-prices and adapt adequat

I got tired of trying to find information about the different types of powersources on like 5 different sources today, so made a about them that's a bit more comprehensive. Please check my math and other info, as I suck at math...
