The Spirit Realm

Hey everyone,
I have been reading up on the new expansions and stuff since i been gone (quite a while, last expansion i bought was PoR, last expansion i was actually active in OOW). The new stuff (group gear / mercenaries / ect.) sounds good and so im thinking about coming back. Heres where the dilemma starts though, i would like to bring only 3 of of my 4 toons back. Since i been gone, i don't fully know what has and has not changed. here are the toons i have access to;

70 Monk
70 Bard
70 Warrior
70 Shaman

(extra account with 62 cleric on it i dont plan on using, but keep it in mind I'll explain it in a sec)

so i was thinking about what 3 would be the best trio, i thought about monk/bard/shaman , but then i read some and someone said monk dps isnt what it used to be and there tanking has gone down a lot too) so while i could pick up a tank mercenary, would the monk dps be that worth it?

so then i was thinking bard/warrior/shaman since the bard can pull and is super for support, my dilemma with this one is the warrior and bard are on the same account.... so would it be worth it to move the warrior to the monks account?

Since many of you are still active, what trio do you think would be the best? Now don't get me wrong, i would like to raid and all the other stuff that requires more time (and aa's, yea been inactive for a while so im a little behind on those) but right now i would like to concentrate on group strength, also with the warrior tanking i could pick up a mercenary cleric if i need some extra healing power (since im guessing that shamans are still what they used to be but i cant say for sure since i have been gone for a while)

Your advice may determine what 3 box i play, it could even determine wether i even come back to the game or not, so thanks in advance to all those who reply to this post.

Honest to god, no word of a lie, if that were me knowing what I know right now,

I'd make a wizard on the monk account, pl it up to be equal to the shm,bard and run 3 mercs.

im not a big fan of the caster classes, other than the shaman of course. i would prefer to use what i already have available to me.

If I had to pick from those 4 I would choose warrior/shm/bard. The monk is really not needed anymore if you have the bard and bard adds much more to the group than the monk.
If I could choose another toon in place of one of those, then it would be war/shm/mage or war/shm/ber. I think casters are much easier to box and I like the mage over the wiz for coh to help pull but wiz is better dps and just as easy to box. Berserker dps is pretty good boxing, but my feeling is caster dps is not as gear dependent as melee dps so I go caster over melee for boxing dps.

That's a good point, i do enjoy mage as an alt, but when it comes to the main characters i play, i preferr melee / hybrid over the others, i didn't even actually create the shaman for myself, my brother (monk) decided he was tired of the 2 of us having to look for a group all the time (at the time i had only my bard and not the warrior) and he figured (this was pre pop) that a shm could slow/heal and as a monk he could pull/tank and as a bard i could be the group utility as well as crowd control, which worked very well until he quit when the shaman was around lvl 45, which is when i then took over and lvled it to 70. with that said, while i do appreciate the input, it would be greatly appreciated if the input would keep to the subject at hand, which is picking the best 3 of the 4 i have named.

For sure bard, it's the most important one you could have atm.

thanks, so far it's the one most have recommended, while the second being mnk/war/shm. still awaiting some input (that and since i wont be able to afford to come back for another few weeks) i'll continue to try to get input and read up on the new stuff for all 4 to see if i can see any reason to pick the ones i do.

Drop the monk definitely.

You may want to replace the Warrior tank with an Air pet, that may however depend on your gear/AA level.

Bard covers your pulling, shaman debuffs, warrior tanks is yoru best et if you want to use those three.

If you replaced one of htose three I would say Bard pulling, Shaman debuffing, Mage Dps adn pet tank.

If you replaced 2 I woud say bard pulling and debuffing, Mage DPS and pet tank, Wizard DPS.

If you wanted to be wild and start three over I would probably say Wizard Mage Ranger, or Wizard Mage Mage or Ranger Mage Mage.

The only problem with having a mage pet tank is that you lose any extra dps from a melee char since the pet won't keep the mob off of them.

does this mean if i come back soe will give me all the expansions (free of charge) as well as the in-game promo items listed at the bottom? just want to clear that up, if so i can come back sooner.

bump for last post. tried to google this and think that it means if i come back i get all that, but need to be positive before i put money behind the decision.
