*** Events ***

- The planar projection for defeating Mithaniel Marr was not rewarding the correct character flags. This has been fixed.

*** Tradeskills ***

– Planar Fletching Kits are now tradeable.
- Changed Othmir Short Beer to use a bottle instead of a Cask.

*** Spells ***

- Increased the duration and lowered the mana cost of Talisman of the Tribunal.
- The Test of Efficiency spell should no longer conflict with Peace of the Disciple or Grace of the Order.

*** AAs ***

- Gift of Mana will no longer be used up when casting a 0 mana spell after it has triggered on you.
- Gift of Mana should now have a chance to trigger on heals other than just instant heals, including heal over time and percent healing spells.
- The way that the wizard AA Mana Burn works has been modified. The new version will use a maximum of 3000 mana instead of draining your whole pool and will do 4 damage for every point of mana spent. This is a raw channeling of magical energy that cannot be focused, and will not crit. The ability is unresistable by normal creatures, but certain extremely powerful creatures may be immune to the effects. Like the original version, once a Mana Burn ability has affected a target, no other mana burn abilities will be able to affect that target for the next minute. Upgraded versions of the ability, Mana Blast and Mana Blaze, are available at level 65 and level 70 and use a maximum of 6000 and 9000 mana respectively. The original Mana Burn ability has been refunded and can be repurchased by Wizards interested in the new version.

The GoM is an ok fix but it still doesn't address the fact that it doesn't look like it will proc off of panther which everyone said is the spell that they cast the most in groups. Wasn't there supposed to be a fix that put a minimum mana amount for GoM to proc off of instead of just certain spells?

Because, as has been explained many times, it is "impossible to refund AA points" TO SHAMANS.

It's remarkable how effective simple communication is at holding the good will of the community.

I hope this massive change to shaman power doesnt disrupt and unbalance the entire game on test, i would hate to see this not make it to live. thanks Devs for taking teh time to fix exactly what shamans have communicated to you thru our class rep, top ten list, /petitions, and /bug reports. you couldnt have spent your time more wisely, now you can go back to working on fixing on EQplayers and other obviously broken issues that directly impact gameplay

So what you're saying is that saving the 500 mana and 12 seconds required to maintain the old version of the spell over a 4 hour period will be game changing for you?

If the fix were game-changing, it couldn't have been done so easily. Scowls made this same complaint in another thread, and I just don't get it. Fixing the resist Talisman doesn't cure cancer or get the Army out of Iraq, either, but that doesn't make it not a positive change.

Pointless changes, while positive, are still pointless, and don't help our situation at all.

NO it doesnt cure cancer or keep the army in Iraq (hi, former miltary, wounded in combat, damn proud of the job they are doing over there and think you wantch to much pansy ass CNN), but this change, and the pathetically small and insignificant change to ToT is just Rytan tossing us a bone (B, only B, macnair can remove the other choice) and convincing himself he did the shaman comunity a major favor and that we now are happy. hell he probably thinks we owe him a favor now.
Making GoM fire on HoTs just fixes their own bug (obvious lack of game knowlege forgetting that HoTs are slows) of Hots not firing it but REGEN does. WTG, they couldnt explain it, wihout admiting they dont know what they are doing...so they are going to put in the live server patch update the "Heal over time will NOW trigger GoM" wording insinuating that they are adding a bonus for us, instead of admiting that it shold have worked that wy all along (despite 5 months of petitions alerting them to this problem)

I understand that this post is about changes on the test server. But to my knowledge, I thought that all clickies / 0 mana spells on live servers could NOT trigger GoM. Vish ring fired my GoM.



Note, "Your Mark of the Brood Warden begins to glow" is the message when using the clicky on the ring. "Your Mark of the Brood Warden shimmers briefly" is the message received when the spell haste from the ring is used. Just wanted to make sure the ring click was distinguished from the spell haste message.

I guess I missed something. I thought all 0 mana clicks couldn't trigger GoM.

Well, it seems to be triggering off of Yoppa's Mending, a spell of high enough level that heals someone, thus meeting the original criterion for Gift of Mana.

It would tend to make me think that their "fix" so far was not to add a generic test for whether the spell you just cast is supposed to cost you mana. Instead, they seem to have added a specific test for whether the spell you just cast was Pained Memory; and they have turned off the Gift of Mana trigger for that specified case.
