WOW destroyed my love of MMOs

I've noticed more and more people straggling back in lately, dissatisfied with WoW or EQ2 or whatever else.

As far as levelling goes, it's really not that dificult to get up to 70 in a couple months if you can find decent groups in OOW. While the exp bonus isn't quite as good as PoP was when it first came out, it's still pretty good and some zones (MPG and 69+ RSS) are great due to the level of the mobs.

As far as being behind goes, a cleric in my guild is trying to come back after losing her level 65 Cleric and not being able to get it back. She's gone from level 1 to 60 in about 3 weeks and I fully expect her to reach 70 by the time the new expansion goes live. When she hits 65 we'll probably gimp her out in Time on an off night, and she'll be good enough to get started raiding.

I haven't tried any of the other games. I have invested too much time and passion into EQ to ever go throught that again. Also, I always seem to figure out one more AA I want.

I tried EQ2, beautiful graphics, but the gameplay wasn't there. Mobs that show you all who will come, locked encounters (SPIT), too many small differences that kept tripping me up. On the other hand, simply beautiful graphics.

I tried CoH, still play it occasionally, great game. Great Superhero's, awesome character creation. Dev's that engage with you.

I have to agree with most of these sentiments. The big difference is for meelee classes. Both EQ2 and WoW had much much more for meelees to do besides hit autoattack and click one or two special abilities every 6 seconds.

My friends that didn't come back from the new games were mostly meelee types.

If you really want to lose your love of (or cure your addiction to) MMORPG's play Lineage 2. Once you get tired of oggling at the dark elf females, you realize just how horrible the game actually is.

No smacking! Stick to the tried and true "head noogie" (Garreth from the Rathe giving Rytan a little noogie action). The purple nurple is another good option!

Well i'm a big addict of mmo's

I still tend to play everquest a lot, maybe cause it is my first mmo everplayed, second one i tried was anarchy-online,
i enjoy ao but for now my time is in eq, ao is on the other hand a nice counterweight to the elfs, trolls and fantasy stuff,
it feels nice to blow a mob away with a 4.5k+ full auto hit

Eve i played a bit and while cool it tend to get a bit boring fast, lot of repeptive action but still enjoable, but can't see myself
playing it for 12 hours straigt every day.

Eq2 looks great, have a nice computer and 2gb ram so can put the setting fairly high, feels a bit dumbed down and making
say a cleric and a shaman you have to play the first 10 levels again, it's only past lvl 10 that spells and such differ, makes it
a bit boring.

Horizons i play from time to time, not so much but i enjoy the tradeskill aspects in the game, lack of dungeons makes the game
bit dull but all in all not that bad.

Matrix i haven't played that much, so can't really say much, the game does not have the desire to play as eq and ao have.

FFXI i got a black mage to lvl 4, game looks nice but same as matrix, not played enough to say much.

Also tried neocron but didn't get the same feeling i get from eq/ao cancelled it now and seems neocron 2 su**s
