The Spirit Realm

Ok guys .. Heres the revised list id like to submit .

Please vote as to wether or not you can live with this version . Please not when its submited to SOE a few changes might have to be made but they will be minor and wont impact the "spirit" of the issues .

#1 Improve shaman DPS and burst DPS. "Perhaps through alterations to the "Panther/leopard" line of buffs tweeking them untill they reach the desired level of Shaman DPS / Burst DPS." (currently being evaluated) - Most likely this will be considered as part of the class re-envisioning .

#2 AE Malos or lose the insane recast delay on Malos. (currently being evaluated)

#3 We feel like we have been left behind on movement buffs . we were the first class to get SoW , we would like a more modern movement buff . Please consider the following suggestion from the community ..
Spell: Talisman of Bih'Li:
1: See Invisible(2)
2: Increase Movement by 65%
3: Water Breathing(2)
4: Ultravision
6: Increase ATK by 25

Duration: 1 hour(s), Location:ANY, Group v2.

Any amount of mana, any level

#4 An upgrade or addition to the Cannibalization AA ability, allowing (at the same ratio), greater or more frequent conversions of HP to Mana. Also consider the possibility of a "Hastened Cannibalization" AA ability perhaps with three ranks .. each purchased rank reduceing the recast of the Canibalization AA by 10%. (currently being evaluated) - Most likely this will be considered as part of the class re-envisioning .

#5 We as a community would like a CASTABLE "Non AA , non Clicky" Group Heal over time spell . IE "Group Quiessence" The amount healed per tic and the mana cost could be tuned to whatever is properly balanced .

#6 Give Shamans a group version of our Haste spell . As it stands now we have single target 60% haste and Group version 50% haste . It is very inconvinent to have to target buff everyone in order to gain our full potential haste. (currently being evaluated)

#7 Endurance regen buff. (currently being evaluated) - Most likely this will be considered as part of the class re-envisioning

#8 Shaman Survivability, Shamans are the least durable of the Slowing classes. This makes it highly risky for us to fufill our role. Please increase a shamans ability to survive the inevitable agro that slowing often draws. (Currently being evaluated) - Most likely this will be considered as part of the class re-envisioning

1. Consider the following AA as a strongly supported option from the community .
1. We propose a new shaman aa called Defense of the Arcane Spirits.
2. This aa would have three levels, available at level 63 / 65 / 67, costing 6 / 9 / 12 aa points.
3. This aa would be insta-cast. The refresh time for this aa would be 9 minutes at level 1; 6.75 minutes at level 2; 4.5 minutes at level 3.
4. Melees get a variety of mitigation tools with differing refresh times. Most relevantly, Beastlords get a similar function, Protective Spirit, with a refresh time of 3 min 54 seconds; and Clerics get several such functions .
5. This aa would reduce the Damage Interval portion of incoming melee damage by 75% for 4 ticks (18-24 seconds).
6. The proposed aa length, 4 ticks, is longer by one tick than the druid mitigation buff and some of the cleric effects. That's because the shaman is designed to fill the main healer role through a process that takes time: [debuff] / slow / heal. To address this, the shaman's emergency ability should be at least one tick longer (enough for Turgur's or Nihil, followed by gem refresh). The shaman still generates additional hate with this slow, but at least he will be less fragile for a tick longer. And once he turns 'vulnerable' again, he will be able to actually heal.
2. Improve the root spell line

5. Allow shaman to block using a shield
6. Increase shaman mitigation/avoidance
7. Better shaman itemization

9 . We miss our bearform line of spells !!! Please consider giveing us a newer version with usefull current effects . Consider possibly a +mana mod insted of +wis and / or perhaps some outher cool effect .

10 . We would like an AA to reduce the reuse time on our VP "Virulent Paralysis" consider an aa that reduces the recast by perhaps 10/20/30 % respectively .

I'd suggest running it through a spell checker before posting it; there are a few typos. And we should be able to come up with something better than an endurance regen buff for the list, considering that SoE already said they don't want endurance regen buffs.

Also, I think we'd be well served to make each of the top 10 items significantly more specific. Asking for generic hand-wavy things like an unspecified amount more dps or an unspecified sized group heal is a good way for us to get nothing. Let's give some examples of cases where we'd use such things and make a SPECIFIC suggestion for an appropriate spell to deal with that scenario.

In other words, in what content do we feel our dps is lacking? By how much? What amount extra on which specific spells would address it? When exactly would we use a group heal? How large would it need to be in order for it to actually be adequate to address the specific situation?

The way the list is written now, we're pretty unlikely to see much of anything from it. We aren't specific enough, nor have we actually justified most of our requests. Just scan through some of the other class top 10 lists for examples of what I mean.

In any case, I can live with it the way it is and voted that way. But I think these suggestions would help it.

By the way, why are we voting on this here instead of on the SoE website? The population that posts over here seems highly skewed toward very high end raiders. And the list is going to be posted over there, rather than here, so should at least be discussed there. Seems kind of elitist to only do it here.

it looks good, still, I don't care much for the endurance regen. let the melees use that because thats more their beef than ours. we don't use endurance, and never will.

good enough except for end regen, thats a melee issue and isnt gonna happen.
#10 eh ok, what ever, not much of a top 10 issue ive ever read about, but i guess it could be fun...why fix stuff thats broken or heavely argued over first

Given the developers' intent not to have melees depend on casters for endurance regeneration, I think we need to drop #7 and add something else.

Great to see, hope we as a community put it to good use.

#1 I don't see the point, that's just not our job. Maybe Champion could be MGBable but that's all imho.

To me, only the number 2 on this list is really needed and should have been done for years. Of course i think there's something missing about the TA being inventory clickable ( of course I am one of the raiding shaman blessed enough to own one, but SoE could add a clicky Turgur's item in some group content also ).
