Dogdog needs a boost!

It is just a change in mentality as you move into harder content that most shaman have trouble with at first.

For a good junk of your life, when mobs hit less and most were fully slowable, pet tanking worked ok in some situations. Asking that our pet tanks like a bst or necro pet (which is what you would have to request to NOT get one rounded in RS) is asking too much.

You just have to consider your pet a free dot, or a free panther target, not a tank, and you'll find your view of him changes. He's ok I suppose, but it would be nice to increase his dps a bit. Panther was a good step in the right direction, because it allows us to add dps ahead of a pull, then canni/heal while panther is running. A boost to pet dps would mean the same thing.

However, both pet and panther dps fail us in one major area: scalability. Neither of the two sources of dps scale with gear or aa. If SOE would put us on the list of classes that could use pet focus items, as well as linking the panther line to a spell focus, I think I'd be a lot more amiable to seeing those two sources of dps enhanced in later expansions.

First post here for me I think. Been a member at the Crucible for a few years now. It looks like the transfer is getting pulled off. Congratulations.

Here's my question. What's wrong wih dogdog tanking as well as a beastlord pup, or imho better. Hell, we were doing this before they ever even dreamed beastlords. They're just mini-shaman anyways. Turn the dog loose. We're the model. Shamans lead the way. We got the smarter dog just give her the tools.

One more thing. What about picking a permanent name and keeping it. I don't need a warder but Theosia is sure a beautiful name for a dog.

For the most part I am happy with my pet. THe only thing I really want is for shamans to be put on pet focus items.

Actually, with the OOW/DoN spells, we are far and away in better shape than BL's. This is no lie. We can out-dps them fairly easily, and that was really their only advantage. Our Dog-Dog can tank in MPG/RSS/RCOD as well as BL pets, meaning that neither can tank at all in either place worth a crap.

All in all, we are in quite good shape. I never thought I would say that, but Sony has actually made Shaman powerful again.
