Two classes have poison based damage (no, Beastlords' and Shadowknights' one dot each don't count.).

Two items in demiplane have poison focus. One is silk pants () the other is this neck.

So, Mr. Zajeer, why is this shm-only item the only one in Demiplane of Blood with -NO- mods? We're talking less here than the ear which rots by the dozen on every server.

Maybe the name of the item should be a clue.

I'm getting somewhat concerned over Demiplane loot. So many tradeoffs to make. And Magelo is slow to get items, so it's pretty hard to track whether it's even possible to get full foci & mods. It's really obviously very very hard to cap mods (spellshield, dot shield, stun resist) with demiplane gear, and foci seem arranged just to make it harder & harder. As in, Foci are only on items that don't have any other mods. Or they're matched with a ton of melee mods but nothing for defensive (caster) mods. Fitting individual items into other outfits isn't super hard, like certain items are amazing (hi pants); putting together a cohesive Demiplane set without heavy support from Anguish/DoN though... nigh upon impossible. Some examples:

Vampiric Frost: I don't personally ever use it, but it is a shm focus, much more used than, say, disease. Dru/Bst get Frost on , which is fine. Rangers are probably quite happy to get their focus on with Fero VI, so that they can keep wearing Anguish haste hats. Wizards I don't think have had a good belt since Rikkukin, so though the hit to mods is significant, it's not intensely problematic. But for shm, waist is one of the two Wurine Distance slots, on . The other Wurine Distance item is , which has no defensive (caster) mods at all.

Casters haven't had Ward click since Uqua, only melee could get the one from OMM. The caster usable item with Vampiric Ward from Demiplane, though, has thin defensive mods and conflicts with Vampiric Thunder focus... not a problem for Clerics on the focus, but Narcissist's Ballroom Mask is the only magic focus for all six of the other casting classes Necro, Enchanter, Magician, Wizard, Shaman, Druid. Talk about backwards, when there are two all/all foci for Chromatic damage (only two classes have Chromatic spell to focus), both with strong defensive mods, but only one magic damage focus, that seven classes want to use, that also conflicts with a click that's unique since Gates of Discord. Oh, and that click item also has the detri mana pres focus for shm (excluding Last Blood), since the Vamp Hunter BP is so clearly melee-oriented.

This is a lot of bitching, but am I alone? Gearing up as a caster in Demiplane seems to suck.

Is it a back and forth thing? Since caster gear was good in Dragons, caster gear sucks in Depths?

I think SOE needs to hire some people that actually play the game as consultants for this crap. Their people are obviously incapable of working on their own game. We're playing Everquest, they're patching for DigDug.

Something that makes me reallize how different it is is the lack of a clear wishlist. I know exactly what to tell people when they ask what good Vex Thal shm items are, good PoTime items, good Txevu/Tacvi, Anguish, DoN, but not Demiplane.

None of it has been looted. Assent hasn't even beaten Performer, as of 12/22 anyhow.
