Hi all.. I've just recently returned to EQ after a year of active duty.. and my-oh-my.. I love the new expansions. I've been hauling butt, and even dumped 300k on radiant crystals for some HP augs. But my question is.. where do I go from here? my guild isn't.. that good We've got 12 members, so raiding is out.

I've heard people on here recommend the 69.1 task, but to out it frankly, I've tried twice solo, and once in a duo and gotten my butt a 1 way trip to PoK everytime.

So i guess this breaks down to the following questions.

#1 Based on my magelo, what are the obvious upgrades that have come out in the last year?
#2 between gear, AA, and spells what do I need to become a solo capable shaman in the new content.
#3 can someone explain in depth how I should go about doing the 69.1, because if I get a broken root, Idie before i can recast it.

Looks like you're definately on the right track from what your Magelo shows, as far as single groupable upgrades DoD mission arcs are a great way to go. Thats where the great majority of my gear has come from so far, in addition to a couple of DoN items and now starting to add a few PoR drops in there as well .

My magelo can give you an idea of what a gear set up might look like after doing alot of the DoD missions.

There are alot of AA advice threads spread about the forums here that can give you an idea of what AA path you can take as well.

The main thing you'll want to get for soloing in 69.1 or any other tough content is the AA located under the PoP abilities tab.

when you debuff a mobs disease resistance, and alot of the time even if you havent debuffed, VP3 will keep a mob locked down for the full 2 minutes a great majority of the time, the recast time also will allow you to keep one mob rooted just about indefinately as you can recast a few seconds before the root breaks assuming it lasts full duration.

One other nice feature of VP is it has a really nice knockback component that can be used as a method of crowd control for single adds while grouping. The knockback is positional based on the direction you are facing when the root lands, and its always fun to see a mob go flying 10 or 15 feet when it lands Really great for getting mobs out of melee range of yourself or anyone else that gets unwanted aggro.
