6 months ago I was just finishing up the raids to start elemental progression, and I topped out at just over 7k fully raid buffed. Then I started doing DoD's, getting as many of the drops that I could, which pushed me up by OVER 1k hp's...(the majority of my gear is, in fact, still DoD)... Now I am flagged for Time, will be flagged for Uqua on Sunday, and I "group" buff to over 10k, self buff to over 7.5..a few hundred hitpoints higher than my former max raid buffed. The HP's are a by-product of the loot, which is a by-product of your progression.
So, enjoy your trek to Time, push your limits and exp zones to the edge, and you will be amazed at how quickly you go from "average" to above and beyond your expectations. Best of luck to ya on your way.

When I first joined a guild, i had about your hps. I was raiding things in UP, was siked to get the BP. The first guild i joined didn't really raid all that much curret content. We Raided PoFear, Plane of Hate, and Plane of Growth. During those times, which actually wasn't too long ago, i was slowly getting upgrades. I was excited to get scaled avatar greaves and other shaman crap from old world planes. Then i joined my first uber guild. This was about a year or so after PoP came out, and the guild i got into some elemental planes. We backflagged constantly, back when flags were complicated. I first really started gearing up in Plane of fire, when i got my first elemental chain patterns. I got some loot off of the PoF minis, then eventually after getting enough dkp i got my first uber loot, the belt from Fennin ro. Just as an example, i will show you the progression of gear i went through for my breast plate: to to to This shows the natural progression of a shaman through various expansions. I went from crappy Droppable BP, to my first NO DROP, then uber elemental god BP, and then my GoD bp. I am still trying to figure out what to do for next bp, either or with , and a slot 8 aug. Without out a set of really uber friends, it will be difficult to advance your character faster than I did. I went from a crappy shaman, who often killed himself with his own Cani V, to a great shaman with good gear. Took a lot of hard work and grinding. Good luck!
