Does this pet focus work for us?

Pet foci will not work for any class other then beastlord necromancer or mage.

No. No pet focus items work for us. Pet focus items only work for Magicians, Necromancers, and Beastlords. Shamans, Shadowknigts, Enchanters, Druids, and any class with other pets (procs, etc.) do not benefit from those focus effects. Only the three 'real' pet classes have a second set of pet tables, which define the focused pets. Sorry.

I've got that item, and I can't notice any difference when I summon dogdog while wearing it compared when I'm not wearing it. There's also no message saying that the item is shimmering, feeling alive, or whatever it would do.

Having played around with a pet focus item on a beastlord, I can confirm that if there's no entry in the database you'll just get the normal pet - be it Spirit of Arag with Minion of Darkness as a beastlord, or any pet as a shaman. And as Sony haven't even filled out the tables for proper pet classes, I doubt there's much chance of them ever doing anything to the secondary pet classes...

(As a side effect of my poking around, I've ascertained that originally in PoP we were to get a level 42 wolf rather than the level 58 one we ended up with. At least that stopped our pet from being a complete joke...)

We need a sticky at the top of every shaman board saying "PET FOCII WILL NOT WORK ON OUR PETS"
