So the Lower Guk revamp introduced some new armor drops off random mobs. In case you havn't seen it, its the Shiny Metalic (silk) and Enameled Black(75) series of armor. Now this armor is rec71/req75, is in the 350hp/mana range, infusible, and drops like candy to the point that you buy 3-4 pieces for the price of one piece of Alloy Linked.
The only problem is the devs forgot to give chain and leather their own sets. As someone who came back after a year, upgrading gear means I have to do it almost all at once due to the changes w/ focus/slot sets.
So aside from the Brigitine BP and a few items that are shaman usable due to overlap w/ casters or all/all, I'm wondering where our cheap armor sets are.

The new Blackburrow goes live ~Aug 8th, so just be patient until then.

Guk's a lot of fun. Good to break and hold the king camp solo (OK, so I didn't break it solo, I used my bot mage to break it, with CoH's after VPing mobs. King, Herbalist, Tactician, 3 mobs in a 9 mob cycle, wanderers and see invis mobs on respawn keep it exciting and challenging to solo. Lots of loot (and that's the main reason to bring twinks)

Does anyone know if the Guk/Blackburrow thing is a permanent change or a limited time only kind of thing?

It's a limited time only thing. Guk ends when living legacy ends (4th aug I think). BB not so sure about, I've not read the end date, so it may be 4th, or it may be 25th - but those are both guesses
