The Spirit Realm

Been thinking about this. Really groups spells are a convenience - so we don't have to cast something 6 times. There are annoyances between some that are single and some that are group only. Because group versions are higher they are affected by focus effects to a lesser extent have to wait to level up to get them etc.

Wouldn't it be great to only have single target spells in the spellbook, but if I was to press a key before casting a beneficial spell it was 3* the mana cost and affected everyone in the group within 200 units of you.

Wouldn't that simplify the game such a lot.

I like it. I've hated the absurd "group versions of spells you already cast are higher level and hella rare" thing since forever.

Group Buff AA (level 51) to accompany Mass Group Buff AA (59 currently)? I like it a lot. Heck, retroactively make it a prereq.

Talk about easy, too. Copy MGB, rename, chop the timer to 6s, make it change the spell to Group v1 instead of Group v2, and multiply cost x3 instead of x6. It was your idea, veril, PM ... Nodyin does AAs? on the EQ forums a link to here.

All I can say is "What a great idea!"

Love the idea, but being paranoid I suspect they would then make all the single buff spells as rare and the same level as the group spells are now.
