Frost Gift

If you would please, i have some questions about how this works.

You target a player, and a (at rank II) a 2585 cold-based nuke recourse hits the targets target and a residual effect on the original target gets a twincast heal on the next 1 or 2 heals (within 18 seconds i am told).

The questions, can the cold-based nuke crit, and is it based on the caster's mods/focii or the tank's (lets just assume for now the original target is a tank).

Do the heals to be twincast have to come from the original caster? Are the 2 heals the first heal and its twincast or is it 2 separage heals which are both twincast (assuming two heals land in the 18 seconds). Again, do the heals have to come from the original caster or can they come from any healer, and again are the heals mod'ed by the original caster or by the healing source.

Does the shaman's target have to be in group? We had some tanks that this didn't work on last night that were out of group. Are there any conflicts with frost gift when putting this on a tank?

Lastly, can only one shaman's frost gift be on the tank at one time or can multiple.

The nuke is a normal nuke. Only new thing is the target selection.

The twinheal buff is placed on yourself. Any 2 direct heals cast by you while that buff is on you will be twin cast.

any idea why it wouldn't land on a tank that is out of group?

This spell is kinda hard to use at times, cause you have to make sure all the right factors are done. First you have to have a player on target and then you have to make sure that players Target is a NPC that you can Nuke.

After you nuke the target, you hope that it is not resisted and if that proves true you get a 2 heal twincast buff that shows up in your Short Duration window for 18 seconds, so YOUR next two heal spells are twincasted.

I love this spell. Usually only issues I have are LoS. Target tank, check mob on extended target (breaking mez is bad), and cast away. Found its rarely resisted, even on Brath level mobs, since generally we've done our debuffs. On some events/mobs geometry will play hell with you since you must have a line of site of your DD target for it to cast.

Since I just recently returned to the game, I've noticed that Frost Gift has a quite often chance to resist the nuke on raid level mobs that have been completely debuffed (will note that this is T6-ish raids in UF). While I don't have an issue with the spell not doing damage, IMHO, if you take the time to cast the spell, you should get the reward from casting (ie the 2 heals). What needs to change is either, put a resist modifier on the spell to ensure it lands much more often or make the spell work that the heals work even if the spell damage is resisted. Add in line of sight issues being complete crap (ie having a tiny twig of grass between you and the target).

/frustrated with this spell.
