Another option which some may not have noticed/realized is that you can use this link:

to only view the forums in the paladin section. Some (likely including myself) may not wish to do that, because I think there is interesting stuff in some of the shaman forums, or what are really class agnostic forums like the Raiding one. But it is another thing that may ease the transition for some folks who are feeling overwhelmed.

Hmm, wouldn't it be better to have our epic 2.0 be the center piece, and have the point face down so it tends to form a cross, then criss cross 2 other weapons? Or possibly have our swords side by side, all point down so they all form crosses? Ours shouldn't look exactly like the shaman one. Could probably lead off with the fiery avenger, fiery defender, and epic, so each sword type has more than just a sword graphic.

For those who are curious, I chose the winged helm because it is as much an EverQuest-specific symbol for Paladins as are our two epics. That helm is the image we see on our inventory screens, and it is also the image offered for our class avatar on the EQLive official forums. It also appears beside our character names on the new character select screen. Not everyone likes the graphics for the helm, just as not everyone likes the graphics for our epics. However, the epic graphics are very specific to EverQuest Paladins -- just as that particular helm is.

Using the helm, instead of a third weapon, gives the Paladin image a slightly different feel from the triple-weapon effect of the Shaman image -- without creating too severe a contrast. Since there appeared to be some minor disagreement on which the third "Paladin" weapon should be, using that helm also had the advantage of evading a debate on that issue.

Making any 2H sword vertical, within the specified size limits, would require such radical shrinking that it would blur out nearly all of the details that make the weapon distinctive. For that reason, the swords are displayed at an angle.

I just couldn't find a picture of the 1.0 that wasn't overly pixel-ly. And I'm not sure if we can use Tking's artwork without permission. But dang I just love his paladin helmet he created, and I think the majority of paladins are familair with his work. And I love the way our new epic glows, so I just wanted to play.
