Just want to clear up a few things... Sloth is a Weapon Proc... Lassitude is more like a rune...
For the cleric to gain any extra aggro he'd have to be swinging his weapon... (It may have an odd side effect of gaining aggro but that's not what it's supposed to do in non-melee situations!)
Meanwhile it's true that Lass has almost no aggro effect... This is due to it being a defensive proc... Sloth is an offensive proc.
So, the cleric is an IDIOT... Thinking that s/he could heal w/o gaining aggro from mobs or blaming it on a spell s/he'd clicked off, heck I doubt if the moron even gave it a chace... Also, not noticing a lack of slowing going on since s/he wasn't meleeing (guess if they parried it could go off on em...)
As far as Lass being on myself... I recommend it on yourself and the monks/pullers (can save their butts). I've not noticed it as an aggro tool. It's more of a damage mitigation (18 sec of 500 base heal over time) Rnk2 is...
Don't have rnk3 yet so don't know what'll be increased...
I agree with the other knowledgeable shaman who say that that situation is exactly when you'd need sloth/lass on all toons... I do see some lack of knowledge from others who see sloth as an aggro tool for spell casting... I've yet to see an increase in aggro with it on (hardly ever used it on myself mind you...) Lass I always recommend since you can use the heal over time from AE ramps to canni for free mana... Sure I use the mark of the broodwarden(DON-Mask quest ring) usually for that purpose but it's only 500 mana well worth a few heals during the 7+ min it usually lasts. Seriously there are many events where I recommend everyone in ramp rang having lass on with MT's having sloth for the added aggro (since they get it from hitting the mob all know the nice aggro a slow resisted gets)
Sloth = weapon proc (AA's that increase proc increase how often it goes off) Offensive damage is High / Medium aggro.
Lassitude = Rune/Damage shield type buff (No damage is given but can proc a slow + heal (500 base HoT) - Defensive damage is low/no aggro
As to the DUMB cleric saying that a % slow doesn't help much... well I guess they failed math or cannot understand why EQ doesn't give us a more powerful slow... Seriously anyone saying a slow doesn't matter shouldn't be acting as if they're knowledgeable on any topic. Granted if I were that shaman I'd probably have hungry plague up... Sure you get a decent amt of aggro if your not running silent casting... Then again I probably have more HP/AC then that "Knowledgeable" cleric *snickers* I know I'm preaching to the choir here but I had to say it.
